SOCCER CHAMPIONS

On January 23, 2012, Prime hosted a meet and greet luncheon for Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Men's Soccer Team. The "Mounties" wanted to thank President/CEO, Mike Katyal, for being a sponsor over the course of the season.
The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College (Division III) National Champions for the second time in the past three years. In the final NSCAA poll, the Mounties were ranked number one over number two ranked Herkimer County Community College in New York and third Ranked Hartnell College of Salinas, California. The Mounties were the only undefeated team in the NSCAA National Poll with a record of 22-0-3.
Head Coach Juan Sanchez was named the West Region Junior College Coach of the Year for the third time. He is one of the four regional Coaches of the Year who will be in consideration for the National Coach of the Year Honors at the 2012 NSCAA Convention to be held on January 11-15, 2012 in Kansas City, Kansas. As a thank you for the sponsorship, the team left Prime America with an honorary Mt. SAC Mounties soccer jersey.

RITA's "SMART ROADSIDE" RESEARCH
|
Increasing truck travel demand is resulting in too many legally loaded commercial motor vehicles queued up at inspection stations and, thus, unnecessary delays in the U.S. supply chain. Levels of enforcement are not keeping pace with this increase in trucks traveling-resources are being strained to deliver effective enforcement programs to ensure all users of the highway are safe. The Smart Roadside program will allow screening of trucks and drivers using wireless communication between the vehicle and the infrastructure while they travel at highway speeds.
The Smart Roadside program is a joint modal initiative between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). A component of the vehicle-to-infrastructure element of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) connected vehicle research initiative, the program encompasses technology and information-sharing research efforts with commercial vehicle roadside elements that are crucial to the missions of the DOT. The research goals of the Smart Roadside program are to foster the development of a prototype application that will:
- Enhance roadside enforcement operations through improved screening and automation of inspection/compliance checks
- Provide enhanced road condition and traffic information to support commercial vehicle route planning and improved access to intermodal ports, urban pick-up, and delivery locations
- Identify key components (e.g., motor carrier, commercial vehicle, commercial driver, cargo) and communicate with commercial vehicles in real time at highway speeds
- Ensure that the necessary standards, protocols, and architecture are developed to support both interoperable operations across the country and appropriate data privacy requirements.
The vision for the Smart Roadside program is one in which commercial vehicles, motor carriers, enforcement resources, highway facilities, intermodal facilities, toll facilities, and other modes on the transportation system collect data for their own purposes and share the data seamlessly with the relevant parties to improve motor carrier safety, security, operational efficiency, and freight mobility. This vision will be achieved through the application of interoperable technologies and information sharing between invehicle, on-the-road, and freight facility systems.

Terri began employment with Prime America, as a Customer Service Representative, in August 2011. Since that time, Terri has been a tremendous asset to our broker customers, as well as her coworkers.
With over 20 years of hands on experience in customer service and sales, Terri possesses the knowledge and skills that make her a model employee in her position. She has a very calming demeanor, in what is sometimes a very demanding position. She is dedicated to the quality of her work because her number one priority is our broker customers.
In her role at Prime America, Terri feels that every day is a new and exciting experience. "I enjoy getting to talk and form friendships with people across the United States via phone and email," she says.
In her free time, Terri loves to spend time with her husband. The two of them are currently in the process of decorating their new home together.
