Smiling Dogs in February

Pet Dental Health Month

Pet Dental Products on sale in Feb.
The best time to begin cleaning your dogs' teeth is NOW!  Or soon after your pets have a professional dental exam or cleaning at your veterinarian's office.

February is Pet Dental Health Month.   Why is dental health so important?  By age three, 80% of all dogs (& 70% of cats) show signs of oral disease.  If your pet has bleeding gums, yellow tartar stains on teeth, difficulty chewing food, or foul-smelling breath, periodontal disease may have already begun.

Oral infection can lead to tooth loss, and if the infection enters the pet's bloodstream it can destroy major organs such as the heart, kidneys or liver.

How can you provide your pets with good oral health?
-- Brush their teeth (30-seconds per side) 2-3 times            a week.  Daily brushing is better
-- Apply an oral hygiene gel or rinse to their teeth
       several times a week
-- Put a dental additive in their water bowl to
       dissolve tartar and plaque
-- Under your supervision, give them bones, rope
toys, hard rubber chew toys, or treats with
antimicrobial, enzymatic, or textural action to
       remove plaque and freshen breath
-- Have a thorough dental exam at your Vet's office
annually to check for cracked or broken teeth,
infected gums, or other health problems

Dog Beach Dog Wash has a wide selection of dental products including one-time-use toothbrushes in poultry or mint flavor to use here or at home.  We carry finger brushes, small, large and 3-sided brushes, and a variety of toothpaste flavors.  We also carry dental rinses, gels, water additives, and healthy chews (treats and toys) to help keep your pets' teeth clean.

During our February Anniversary Sale all dental products are 35% off.  Be among the first 25 people to say "Smiling Dog" and we'll give you a free tube of C.E.T. Vanilla-Mint enzymatic toothpaste.

Honor Your Dog With a Dog Beach Tile

Dog Beach Commemorative Tiles

The Ocean Beach Town Council (OBTC) has extended the deadline for selling tiles at the main "pawprint" entrance at Dog Beach so you can honor your loving dogs.

According to OBTC President Jim Musgrove, the Council still needs to sell at least 25 more before the tiles can be engraved and installed.  Six hundred tiles were sold in 1999-2000, and were installed in 2003.

You can pick up a form at Dog Beach Dog Wash, or go to the OBTC's website and click on the link at the bottom of the page to download the Dog Beach Tile Form to complete and return by mail, with a check for $150.00, to sing the praises of your dogs and of Dog Beach.
