Having a website can provide a small business exposure to an online audience that they might otherwise miss. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Office of Advocacy, 97 percent of Americans look online for local products and services, yet 63 percent of America's small businesses don't have a website or online presence (published January 2012). Outlook for Florida's Job Market |

Based on the Florida Economic Estimating Conference held in December 2011, the unemployment rate for Florida was forecasted to decrease to 10.5 percent by the second quarter of 2012. Florida has already dropped below that rate by 1.8 percentage points or 8.7 percent. Nonagricultural employment was expected to increase by 0.7 percent or 49,000 jobs over the year in the second quarter of 2012. In April, Florida annual job growth rate was 0.7. Employment is not expected to reach its previous peak level (first quarter 2007) until fiscal year 2017, adding 777,000 jobs. The next Florida Economic Estimating Conference will be held in July. |
