Week of June 3rd, 2012
Hello Friends, This is the final week of the "Living It Up" series. This Sunday, Pastor Craig will be with you and I will be at the Mission Viejo site. What a joy it is to be able to worship at both campuses as one community! This week we will look at Isaiah 61. This is a passage that Christ himself quoted at the beginning of his ministry. In our culture joy seems to be situational, but for the Israelites, who had gone through exile and struggle, the joy came from knowing that God was sovereign. Life is completely transformed when we start viewing life from this prospective. The ability to grasp joy even in the most difficult times is truly a gift from God and one of the greatest mysteries of faith. Our hope isn't in circumstance, but in who holds our life in their hands! One of the most important days in my ministry is just around the corner and I would like to invite you to come! After two years as a provisional elder, I will complete my journey and be ordained as an elder in full connection. This will take place at Annual Conference at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16th at the Redlands University chapel. I would love for you to be there, my parents will also be there to celebrate this big day.
Blessings, ~ Pastor Sarah |

 Shepherd of the Hills Preschool
"... do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
~Joshua 1:9
We have been eagerly anticipating the return of Rocky, our Chapel Mascot (a sheep, of course) from his mission trip to the Holy Land. He brought the children back Holy Land Fruit of the Spirit Fruit Snacks and shared his adventures while he walked where Jesus walked. Then it was onto Fun in the Sun at 'Beach Days'! Our sandbox area became our Shepherd of the Hills "beach" ... We had lots of wet fun building rivers, lakes and even an island with a volcano! Beach Boys music serenaded us throughout the playground, while we also "fished and camped" and "boated and sailed"! We also enjoyed our snack while lounging on our beach towels al fresco! Summer has begun!
