Week of May 20th, 2012

Hello Friends,
I hope that all of you have had an opportunity to spend some time outside during this amazing weather. I encounter God so closely in the midst of nature. This week there was an amazing display of nature with the eclipse of the sun. I watched it with a friend and we both commented on how God seemed to be saying hello.
Last week we had our historic vote and I am happy to report that the merger has passed! It is exciting to see where God will take us. This week we continue our series on "Living It Up." Sunday we celebrate Pentecost - the time when the church received the power of the Holy Spirit - talk about a reason for joy! We will look at the story of the woman who responded to Christ with thankfulness and an extravagant gesture, Luke 7:36-50. Joy often results in the outpouring of thankfulness.
Blessings this week,
~ Pastor Sarah

 Shepherd of the Hills Preschool
" Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
~ Luke 11:28
This past Tuesday night was our 1st and future annual Art Fair. The Art Fair is one of our favorite preschool events. Our play yard becomes a spectacular sea of color and imagination! Each child had several masterpieces displayed on our play yard for all to admire. We sold ice cream (the proceeds go towards our family assistance program) and everyone enjoyed this refreshing snack while admiring all of the beautiful artwork. It was a fun night for all of our preschool families.
Praising Him who designed all our beautiful colors,
Becci Lukes & Cindie Reilly
