Hello Friends,
This week is our fourth and final week of our series on the revolutionary nature of the Kingdom of God...."rEVOLution." During the "rEVOLution" series we have been looking at Jesus' parables about the Kingdom of God found in Matthew 13. This week we are going to look at how the Kingdom is compared to treasure and to items of great value. How would you act if attaining treasure was a possibility and how would it change the way you lived? I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we worship together.

 Sunday Morning Worship Team This Sunday
Ever wondered how someone gets to be the Worship Coordinator? Do you have a friendly face and the ability to shake a hand? Do you want to find a way to connect more to the worship community at Santa Margarita? If you answered 'Yes!', then come and check out our Sunday Worship and Welcome Team meeting this Sunday, Jan 29th. It is an informational and instructional meeting following the church-wide communion lunch at noon. All current worship team members are asked to please attend this meeting as well. Child care is available.

 Shepherd of the Hills Preschool

Get to know our directors, Becci Lukes and Cindie Reilly, as they introduce the preschool program to the congregation Sunday after our worship services. They will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

 New Beginnings Membership Class This Sunday, January 29th join Pastor Sarah and Pastor Craig in exploring what being a member of our church is all about. During this class they will share the meaning of church membership and our history as United Methodists. This class will be held at the Mission Viejo campus from 4 - 7 pm.The class includes dinner. Please speak with Pastor Sarah after worship on Sunday if you are interested. |

 Santa Margarita UMC Vital Signs
Sunday, February 12th at 6:30 pm.
A year after the District Superintendent visited SMUMC with some important and difficult choices for the future, it is now time to revisit where we are as a church and what the pathway forward looks like. While we are working toward a merger with Shepherd of the Hills, there are questions and issues that SMUMC faces in the next few months that affect our future as a church. The Pastoral Team of the Cooperative Parish (Pastors Craig, Sarah, and Russ) will be making a presentation on the "State of the Church" that will provide a roadmap of the possible changes in store for the SMUMC community.
This gathering is distinct and separate from the Cooperative Parish Checkpoint scheduled for February 26th. Please make every effort to be present for this important gathering of the SMUMC community.

 Blood Drive
The Cooperative Parish will be conducting blood drives every other month in 2012 at either the Santa Margarita or Mission Viejo campus. Donors are welcome at either site. If you have any questions, contact Mary Beth McGowan. If you want to make your appointments for the whole year, please contact Avis French.
