SMUMC

Week of Jan. 8, 2012

Rev-W

Hello Friends,

This week I will miss all of you as I am down with our Mission Team in Mexico building houses and providing a VBS for our partner church in Ensenada. I am leaving you in more than capable hands! This week we are continuing our series, "rEVOLution;" looking at how God acts in the world. Matthew 13 is the scripture that we will be studying for the entire series. This week, as we look at the parable of the sower, we will talk about just why it is that God allows the Good and the Bad to co-exist. Have a fantastic week in worship, and please pray for the Mexico Mission Team of 38 folks from both the Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo campuses and for the Youth who are on their Winter Retreat.

~ Blessings, Pastor Sarah

Life Skills Workshop

This Saturday, January 14th from 9 am - 12 pm.
People are hurting. It does not take an economist to realize that we are living in uncertain economic times.  Everyone knows someone who has lost a job or is in danger of losing his or her job.  People are worried and not sure how to deal with the new economic reality.  Please join nationally recognized motivational speaker and life coach, Chris Alexander, as he offers a workshop to help the unemployed and under-employed "Discover Focus & Joy:  Navigating the New Economic Reality."  Bring your friends, family and neighbors for a life transforming morning at SMUMC.
