SMUMC Weekly Word Week of July 17, 2011
|
|
Hello Friends-
This week I will be preaching at the Shepherd of the Hills campus. I know I will miss being in worship here at SMUMC, but I am excited about who will be sharing God's message with you, Pastor Bill Lichty. Pastor Lichty is an amazing staff member at both Shepherd of the Hills and Santa Margarita UMC. Pastor Lichty is a licensed counselor and is gifted in many things including preaching, teaching and providing pastoral care and counseling. This week we are going to be looking at Ephesians 2:1-10, the story of our new identity in and through Christ as we seek to be a new creation! I can't wait for you to hear what a passionate and gifted speaker Pastor Lichty is!

Prayer Opportunity/ Praying for Others
If you would like to become part of our Cooperative Parish Prayer Chain or if you have a need for prayer, please email Carolyn Bohmholdt.
Prayer, as we know, is simply communication with God through written or spoken words, thoughts, meditation or song. It is a very powerful tool. The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "...The power of a righteous man is powerful and effective." All requests received through "In Touch" cards or office communications are distributed to the prayer chain for continued prayer during the week.
