Greetings!
So far it has been a very busy 2011 here at the Club. Over the past few weeks we have had over 150 students participate in our Active Schools program, we've hosted a Vegetarian Challenge that attracted over 50 participants and dozens of members and non-members have started specialty programs like our Junior Squash, Intro to Kettle Bell, Russian Boot camp and Mommy Boot camp.
We have also started the process of updating our website. Although it is a work in progress, you the first version is now live here. When completed, not only will we have a new look and feel, but also we will have a new tool to help us communicate better with both our members and potential members.
The new website and the many programs that we are offering are just a few examples of how we can help you live a healthy and active 2011. Great Lunchtime Classes - Make the best of your Lunch hour with two great workouts in just 50 minutes. With Yoga on Wednesday and a Kettlebell workout on Fridays, you are guaranteed to energize your afternoon. Check out these and other classes on our website. Mommy Bootcamp - There are limited spots still open for this session of Mommy Bootcamp. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays starting February 8th. This program is open to Members and Non-Members. Call the Club at 519-966-2141 to register. Spin and Strength - For many years, Janine Jodoin has been helping women gain strength and lose weight with her Women on the Run program. Munchkin Squash - This is a NEW PROGRAM for 2011. Specifically designed for children ages 4 to 7, this high energy program will focus on body awareness, sportsmanship and building self esteem. Click here for more details.

Early Morning Squash - Are you an early riser? Would you like to play Squash before the start of your workday? You are not alone. We have recently had a number of requests for early morning matches. If you would like us to help find you an early morning match just send Mark Porter an e-mail. We will do our best to find a partner who is at a similar level.
More Squash. More Fun - Players of all levels are invited to join Mark Porter on Thursday Nights at 7:00 for an informal hit around. Meet new players and improve your skills. Congratulations to Tom & Lorie Beneteau! - Tom and Laurie were crowned the Michigan Squash and Racquets Association City B-Doubles Champs after defeating Paul Gabreal and Barry Leavitt in the final. Food Drive Results - A huge Thank You to our members who collectively donated over 350 non-perishable items to the Downtown Mission. Vegetarian Challenge - On the 13th of January, over 40 people were challenged by Naturopathic Doctor Jennifer Strong to a 1-Month Vegetarian Challenge. Many benefits of Vegetarianism were touted and participants were provided with some great Vegetarian Recipes and a link to a blog to help them adjust to a reduced meat diet. The talk was free, but donations to the T2B from participants exceeded $300. Thank you to Dr. Jennifer Strong for providing participants with the tools and information to improve their food choices!
