 2011 NMPA Annual Convention. October 27 - 29.  Hyatt Tamaya Resort and Spa 
The membership of the New Mexico Press Association will return to the  Hyatt Tamaya Resort and Spa for its annual convention on October 27 -  29.   Details on workshops, the trade show, awards banquet and a golf  tournament are being developed.    Members and guests are encouraged to begin making their hotel reservations online at:   HOTEL RESERVATIONS  
  
We have an excellent line-up of advertising workshops on Friday afternoon, a  full schedule on Saturday with something for just about everybody and it all  leads up to the awards banquet on Saturday night.    
NMPA has also held the low rates and  are once again offering a la carte sign ups.   You will find the registration  form online:  REGISTRATION. 
  
  
NMPA Golf outing 
This year the annual convention will kick off with a golf tournament at  Twin Warriors Golf Course  on Thursday Oct 27th.  $75.00 per person. Registration required.  1:45 meet up time at pro shop.   Please let your suppliers and vendors know of the golf tournament  - we'll have plenty of sponsorship opportunities for all of them.      
  
BNC Judging Update - Goodnight Irene!       
The entries arrived in what was sunny Rhode Island all set to be judged on Aug 29th.  A little storm named hurricane Irene changed our plans a bit.    With widespread flooding and power outages we had to postpone the judging.  Results should be in within the next week or so - barring any additional hurricanes.    
  
NEWMEXICO.GOV RE-LAUNCHES WITH NEW LOOK AND  FEATURES 
The new version of the portal has been updated with a new modern look  and new features that allow citizens, visitors, and businesses better  access to information such as online services, public resources,  upcoming public meetings, news and emergency alerts. The portal has also  undergone a major renovation that allows the public to view live  webcasts and archived videos of the legislative session, legislative  committee meetings, board and commission meetings, and other public  meetings in New Mexico. 
The New Mexico Press Association has also made  available all public notices regarding hearings, financial reports,  adoption of ordinances, and other government activities published  anywhere in the state of New Mexico, linked from the portal's home page.
