Greetings!

We are proud to report that during the past two months, BSAC was both published and led a class at Harvard!!

On March 26, 2012, the Harvard Educational Review published in its spring edition an article authored by BSAC staff member Caroline Lau and nearly twenty current and former BSAC members. The article, titled "We're the Ones in the Classroom: Ask Us! -Student Voice in Teacher Evaluations," focuses on BSAC's four-year campaign to include student feedback in teacher evaluations throughout the state of Massachusetts. BSAC was approached last year by editors of the Harvard Educational Review who were interested in learning more about BSAC's success in incorporating student voice in teacher evaluations.

You can buy a copy of the article in the Harvard Educational Review online at http://www.hepg.org/main/her/Index.html.

On Wednesday, April 25th a combination of BSAC students and alumni presented at a Harvard Graduate School of Education class about the BSAC Mission: Evaluate campaign.

Karen Mapp and Paul Kuttner, who normally teach the class "The Why, What, and How of School, Family, and Community Partnerships," handed over the reigns to BSAC.

Nearly 80 graduate students listened intently as BSAC detailed the history of their constructive feedback campaign and their success in incorporating student voice into formal teacher evaluations in the state of Massachusetts. An intense conversation and Q&A session followed on student engagement and student leadership.

Stay tuned to find out where BSAC will go next!

Sincerely,
