Greetings!
We are proud to present our latest video production - a piece that documents our three year campaign to get students' voices into their classrooms. By giving students a voice in the classroom, teachers will hear what practices are working for students and what areas needs improvement - right from the students themselves.
Through interviews with students, teachers, and administrators, this video tells the compelling story about why constructive feedback and student evaluation of teachers is important for all of us interested in improving the quality of education in this country. This project is the focal point of our campaign - We Are the Ones in the Classroom - Ask Us!
Please join our movement to ensure that students' voices are being heard in their classrooms and give teachers and administrators an opportunity to hear directly from those who are affected most by our current education system.

We believe that teacher evaluation cannot happen without constructive feedback. In Boston, BSAC has come up with the following demands for how constructive feedback and teacher evaluation should be implemented in the Boston Public Schools.
Teacher Evaluation Demands
- Every student has the right to be part of formal teacher evaluation.
- Boston Public Schools ensures that administrators evaluate every teacher at least every two years.
- Boston Public Schools includes students in the development of the student feedback component of the educator evaluation tool.
- Students participate in the development and implementation of professional development.
- Evaluators make sure the evaluation process protects student anonymity.
- The School Committee makes a commitment to report on how the teacher evaluation process will be implemented.
Constructive Feedback Demands
Every student has the right to give their teachers constructive feedback every year, for every teacher - even if the teacher is not being evaluated that year.
- Every teacher is required to share the results of constructive feedback with their classrooms.
- In 2013, school administrators should compile constructive feedback data to be reflected in teacher evaluations.
Thank you so much for supporting BSAC and please contact us if you have any questions about this or any of our projects.
