Greetings!
BSAC has moved beyond the East Coast and into the Midwest! On March 27, 2012 representatives from the Boston Student Advisory Council were invited to fly to Chicago, IL to participate in a press conference facilitated by VOYCE (Voices of Youth in Chicago Education), a youth organizing collaborative for education justice led by students of Chicago Public Schools.
After a brief tour of the Windy City, BSAC students presented on the history of their Teacher Evaluation campaign. They spoke about the success BSAC has had not only implementing constructive feedback in Boston Public Schools, but also incorporating student voice in teacher evaluations at the state level. We are very grateful to the organizations in Chicago to have given us this opportunity and look forward to seeing their own teacher evaluation campaign move forward!

BSAC rallies against T rate hikes
BSAC, along with hundreds of other young people, rallied with the Youth Affordabili(T) Coalition to denounce plans by the MBTA to increase fares by 23% and calling for the creation of a Youth Pass.
Click HERE for complete media coverage and to watch BSAC's own Angie Auguste explain why the MBTA's proposed fare hikes and service cuts would hurt students.
