Greetings!
It is that time again! Time for the next WBSRC meeting and newsletter. The WBSRC is always looking for newsletter articles and speakers for the WBSRC meetings. If you have a newsletter article or a topic you would be interested in, please contact us at info@wbsrc.org.
Be sure to check out the newest section of our newsletter called the "Technical Corner" that will include a brief explanation of an AMD-related monitoring, planning, or maintenance activity. It is out hope that the Technical Corner will provide useful information and/or additional resources toward implementing these types of activities.
We hope to see you Tuesday, October 9th, at the WBSRC meeting in Clearfield. Please note due to a conflict the meeting has been moved to the first Tuesday in September.

Technical Corner: Why Bugs?: The Importance of Macroinvertebrate Surveys to AMD Restoration
by Rachel Kester, Trout Unlimited
As a volunteer working to restore AMD streams you are probably familiar with benthic macroinvertebrate surveys. Along with water chemistry analysis and flow measurements, they are integral parts of every stream monitoring/ assessment project. You have probably stepped into a stream a time or two to perform these surveys yourself, or you may have watched as others have performed the "buggy boogie", kicking up the stream bed in search of the critters who call it home. Macroinvertebrate surveys are fun and interesting, to be sure, but what makes them an important component to every restoration project? Read More...
