The Connecting Point
"A connected teen is a protected teen"

June 2012
Dear ,

Thank you for being a loyal follower and supporter of Just Say YES and our mission to provide youth with factual and relational information that will equip them to live healthy and successful lives.
May was an exciting month for us with lots of great programs and a JSY STARS graduation. We are thrilled to share with you what has been happening at JSY.
Gang Member Turns Life Around

Can a teen who has already started down the wrong path really turn his or her life around? JSY STARS students in Garland ISD are proving that they can. One member of the program has made dramatic strides in changing his path.
The student came from a background of gang affiliation. He had behavior problems in school and was frequently in trouble. After less than three months in STARS, he is doing better in school. He doesn't skip class, has stopped fighting, and is asking for help academically.
"I'm amazed by his quick turn around," Lofton said.

JSY STARS  Expands

With the incredible success of the JSY STARS Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program, we are expanding to include a new school district.  W.T. White HS will be joining Lakeview Centennial HS, Naaman Forest HS, and Webb Middle School in the JSY STARS program.

Together, the four schools will put 35 mentors and 180 mentees into the program for next year.

If you would like to donate to enable us to continue to expand this program to other schools, click the donate button above and give your support.
