Is it a Good Time to Build?
Yes! If you have the money.
We do many Building Fund Appeals for congregations and religious groups who are renovating, adding onto, or building new facilities.
Talking with our clients and architects, they are experiencing construction bids at 2005 prices. That is quite a discount - perhaps 10% to 20% less because of the desire for construction work in this economy.
Many clients are also borrowing money in the 4% to 6% range. Some of these rates will lock in for 5 years, some as many as 15 years. Usually, a client will borrow 1 to 1.5 times what they might have raised in a Building Fund Appeal.
As the economy improves, both construction costs and interest rates are expected to increase.
It is a good time to build!
