Dear Staff Members,

In preparation for our first Alban Webinar, we are launching a monthly email newsletter using Constant Contact. This is a sample template of what it could look like. Our thought is for each Partner and Program Director to take turns writing the content of this new publication. The proposed name is "Generosity Gems." John, Donna, and I invite your feedback. Our goal is to have the October issue ready by September 22nd for our September 24th webinar.
 
A GEM OF AN ARTICLE
Change Sunday
On the third Sunday of every month, smiles fill the sanctuary during the collection of the offering at Lutheran Church of  the Good Shepherd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Children know they will be given small buckets and sent into the congregation to collect the loose change from the adults. As the children spread out, adults call the children to them to place their coins into their buckets. When all the change has been collected, the children bring their small buckets forward and with a loud noise, dump their buckets into a well containing a large bucket. Children and adults alike know their offerings will be used to dig wells in Ethiopia, and the sanctuary is filled with joy as the sound of coins hit the buckets.
