Useless Trivia Question of the Month
The Answer to October's trivia question was: Tor Johnson! Dr. Tom Montenero's son, Tom, guessed the answer and even the movie he was in, 'Plan 9 from Outer Space' directed by Ed Wood, considered to be the Worst Director EVER in movie history!
Look who's next!
What 'Cross-Dressing Freak' was recently spotted in a bar in Ogunquit, when he/she's not working?

The first person (and only the first person) to give the correct answer will win a $10.00 gift certificate (of your choice) courtesy of me just for playing the game! Call me at 617-387-9100 if you think you know the answer.
One guess per player! Ask for Bobby... |

2010 ANNUAL DINNER REVIEW
The Annual Dinner was a tremendous success welcoming in the new Chamber President, Mr. David O'Neil, and recognizing three prominent Chamber businesses that made significant investments in Everett during the past year, Schnitzer Northeast, Distrigas/GDF SUEZ, and Dunkin' Donuts. Accepting for Schnitzer was Public Affairs Manager, Colin Kelly, accepting for Distrigas was President and COO, Frank Katulak and accepting for Dunkin' Donut's were owners, Pat and Gianna D'Angelo.
Over 160 people attended the event held at Anthony's of Malden. Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Jr. and State Representative Stephen (Stat) Smith congratulated President David O'Neil and presented citations to the business recipients. State Senator Sal DiDomenico attended the function briefly but had to leave early due to previous commitments.
During the last year, the Chamber was successful in adding 44 new members to its roster! The Chamber Annual Dinner and membership grows in attendance each and every year and with continued participation, we will have another great year!
The Chamber would like to thank last year's President, Mr. Bob Mitchell, for his excellent leadership and support throughout the year. From the Board of Directors and all of the Chamber members, we would like to congratulate Schnitzer Northeast, Distrigas/GDF SUEZ and Dunkin' Donuts on their recognition and welcome David O'Neil as the new President of the Everett Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to working with him to make the Chamber an inspiration to and for the business community of Everett...

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Schnitzer Steel's Metals Recycling Business (MRB) collects, processes, recycles, trades and brokers metal, both ferrous (such as iron and steel) and nonferrous (such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel, nickel, brass, tin, titanium and others). Their operations receive scrap metals from a wide range of suppliers and industries. A large amount of material comes from industrial accounts - businesses that generate large quantities of residual metals from manufacturing processes. In addition, large quantities of recyclable metal comes from auto part recyclers and smaller, owner-operated businesses, while others are generated by large, one-time opportunities such as the demolition of steel-constructed buildings or other structures like bridges. They also purchase crushed auto bodies from their Auto Parts Business facilities, where geographically feasible. They process raw scrap metal by sorting, shearing, shredding, torching and baling. The resulting processed metal is used by steel mills (including the one operated by their Steel Manufacturing Business) and foundries domestically and around the world to produce finished steel and other metal products. Through recycling, millions of tons of material find new uses each year.
