So I have been busy making iphone apps for those I know and myself as well. Here are some I made to give you an idea of how one could use this active business card method.
My wax painting app My App Man Business
My Life Coaching Business My Gallery North App
Wellness Restoration Arts
Seattle Life Coaching
If you want an iPhone app for yourself I will do it for $45.00, just email me and I can tell you what to send me or direct me to your website. I would keep your app current for a year with your updates and as you can see you do not even have to have an iphone to use the app as a promotional piece as it comes with a website so you can promote it with different download buttons that can be posted on your web or blog site. If you have no need of updates a one time charge would only be $30.00.
OK, I am under the gun as we decided to up and leave for 4 months and go to Green Valley AZ. once again . The push is on to get everything handled before we leave including taxes. So to get out the newsletter is a crunch... I also am still working on those blocks to be sent out and I have 100 to finish. So I am going to give you some of that effort. Here is the project in stages. First I paint all the cards and I try to create a card that will have two images to cut out. After they are finished I paint them all with a coat of future floor polish to protect the surface. After dried I put a block over the pattern area I want and use a ball point pen to scratch the line that I will then cut upon. I take all the blocks and paint them first with mat media on the edges and the back side to seal them and follow that with a coat of paint.
Next I take my business card an use mat media to paste it on the surface. I use rubber bands to keep them tight so they glue down.
With everything laid out I take the blocks one at a time and with a sponge brush I use mat media and paint the card backing and fix them to the blocks. I use 4 rubber bands to hold down all the sides till the glue dries.
I then wrap them with a cellophane strip, tape them closed and also put a note to ask "who purchased me" inside but visible.
I filled one box with 95 blocks to send into the company (fun that they are selling so fast) and decided to hold the additional 5 to take with me on our trip as examples and perhaps to sell. This is always quite a project to pull off so not sure if I will keep it up as I have not established if it is accomplishing what I wanted as an advertizing method to promote the web site across the country. I probably should give it some more time to prove itself.
Thank goodness I had to sit the gallery this week as I was able to paint some more to put in the news for you. Here is that four hour effort.
Can't remember if I ever showed you this video collection of encaustic art and photo combinations,... Sorry if it is a repeat.

This teaching video is over an hour long and I hope it will give you good information
in one chunk instead of in bits an pieces. Painting on a small table to
show that this can be done anywhere, small apartment, to an RV. You do not have to have a studio. Here is the link for the video.

I just got the notice that I will have to be charged to send out this monthly newsletter in the future. If you want this newsletter to continue I would have to raise the funds to do this through subscriptions. I will have to leave this in your hands to see what kind of response I get, but otherwise I have enjoyed the opportunity to share my experience of wax painting with you all. Thanks for your interest over the years. |
