I have mentioned my grandson in previous newsletters but another opportunity
came up when he invited me to his school for a demo of wax painting for his
school art evening. He sat with me and did some paintings himself.
Then a month later his class did a program for the whole school where they each
had to make items to sell with made up money and they had to pay rent for their
space with those funds and keep track of their profits etc. He really got into
painting and he sold all of his cards that day.
Here is Carson Mock all business with his art project.
Focused very intently on putting that bird on top of the barn.

Wiping off and ready to go for another color. He was busy at work not only
this time at school, but we had several session in the studio getting ready for his
big day as he wanted to have an inventory of cards to start off with that day.
He Carson takes to his art with a passion.... ok you guys have you
been painting this month????
I just got an invite to go to another school to demo wax painting with a past
student who
down to do that.
I have received some wonderful examples that I want to share with you from
Joan Minton. She took some of her cards and cut them down to the ATC size
(same as a deck of Playing Cards) and used them as backgrounds for her
projects... you just might get some good ideas here.

Thanks so much Joan these are wonderful.
Keep sharing all of your art with me so I can post it on this news letter. This way
it really makes it your newsletter. As you have seen I have been all over the map of late with different interests.
One of these is to write some books and I have found a great site to do this with.
Not only to write but also to publish, and I thought I would share that with you.
So here is the link to check that out for yourself.
What I have started out to do is to write the story of my life. That may only
be of interest to myself, but I will let you know when that is finished. This is also
a great way to write a blog as well.
You also have the link to the e-book below that was my first attempt to write. This
writing tool makes the flow easy so I would encourage you to take a look at how
it works.
Another thing I would like to toss out for you to catch is what would you like to
see more of in this newsletter?
So many nice thing happen to me because of this medium and here is another
example. I was at the gallery and a young man (Daniel Oguin) came in and we
began to talk aboutwax painting. Soon I found out he was visiting from Hawaii, he
was a graphic designer for a company out of San Jose in California. He thought
the wax designs would be a great mix with his graphic work so we decided to get
our heads together.
One project was a contest to design some board shorts. I thought I would show
you some of the examples we came up with using my designs.

Isn't it just great to flow with the creative stream and watch what emerges.
Then Daniel said he is going to merge his designs onto my designs and look
what the results turned out to be.
I took one look at this design and thought of children's books as well so who
knows where this will lead. Here is the first page of the storybook.......
Nimbus How much fun is this! Daniel said he always wanted to write children
stories so another match.
Another mixed design job with faces that are sooo cool.
Of course we talked at length of my other project putting my designs on all sorts
of products. If you have never taken a look at one of these sites ( I have two others)
you might want to take a peek at this LINK
Here is a collection of images done this month, Proud Nation below was a photo
