It has been quite a fun vacation here in Rosarito Mexico and now it is time to head home. I suspect we will wind our way north strolling up the coast and also visiting friends along the way. We have enjoyed the sun and the surf lulling us to sleep at night. The food and the warm reception makes you feel right at home. So I had some time to dabble a bit with the wax and just room for A6 size images. It made me realize that there are so many combinations you can create on this small size. Here are a few....
I think the sun and the surroundings influenced my paintings this month.
Here is a left over Valentine...
We were visiting a gallery in Puerto Nuevo and met a fellow artist that worked with straw and made the greatest paintings. He gave me a short class and since he would paste the straw down with a bees wax and resin mixture I thought it might be a match with wax painting... so I did the flowers and then put that on a background of wax. I liked the effect and am going to explore this and see what I can come up with instead of the straw which will be impossible to get in the states. His painting had a lot more going for them than mine.. You break the straw in little sections with your fingers....
Sunsets glow Our time is coming close to ending...
Pottery shops and all sorts of crafts abound.
Here is where we called home for the month.... walks on the beach were refreshing.
Outside a wonderful hotel in Encenada where Muriel and I and (and Muriel's daughter who flew in from NY for the week ) sat 3 hours for lunch, you can see the extra pounds from this vacation being attracted to me.
Ok that should hold you for the month... we will have to see what is created this next month.... and....
What have you been doing????? Get that wax out and have some fun..
