John
We are in Rosarito at the moment but I put a few thoughts together before I left and put this to go out Feb 1st on auto send.

I have wanted to explore working on plaster so I took some cradled boards and taped the edges and then taped again with a raised edge to hold in the plaster of paris.
xmas 1

After it set I wet the plaster an sanded it to get it smoother and then put on a coat of gold gesso. I then got out some mica paints and watercolors and with stencils put on some designs to the plaster.

Next I put on a layer of clear beeswax and began to embed some papers, a square of metallic paper, a bit of silk scarf, a strip of mono printed paper, plus added a wax strip.

Here is one panel that I have finished and have put on a coat of future floor polish

To finish the edges I used the stylus and the round tip to wax with black wax which set the piece off quite nice.

I will see if I have some more time to finish the other two panels before I leave town.

Here are some A 6 size done this afternoon while I was sitting my gallery shift.
