John
Years End,  can you believe it!

   Thanks for reading this  newsletter
and staying connected with wax painting.

Gift giving time of year and your wax
paintings will be wonderful presents and
holiday cards, get busy. Below is another of
the images I downloaded from the
http:TwistedPaper.com site and then waxed in the same
way I have told you before using the griddle and stylus.

This month I am going to focus on a project that
I first saw in Daniel Smiths catalog.  Here is the page
out of that catalog.  Page is large so you have to scroll
to see it all.daniel smith article
You will have to use your arrow keys to scroll right and left
to read all of the above. You might want to do some research
on Patricia's work. Her book lets me know we think along
the same lines although she does use the brush method. But
she is always thinking out of the box and loves to experiment
with wax.

I will be doing some of these sized pieces that are ACT size
in case you are interested in trading around the world with
other artists. This has become quite a movement and lots of
resources on the web for connecting with other artists.

Here is one contact:
http://artandimagesbykim.ning.com/group/atcaceoartistcards
and another:
http://artandimagesbykim.ning.com/group/atcaceoartistcards
And one last one:
http://www.artist-trading-cards.ch/index.html

You can google some more if you have some interest in
trading or selling the ATC's.  I just ordered some 8.5 x 11
mats cut out to hold a selection of ACT cards from
http://www.jerrysartarama.com Look close as I made a
mistake when I ordered them. I wanted the ones that had
9 holes cut in the mats and I got the ones with just one.
I didn't read the information close enough.

Here is a collection of ATC just done on regular card stock.

   ATC 1

And another lot of the same ATC. What is so neat
about doing these is that you can use your pictures you have
made, but didn't really like that much. You just have to
locate a section the fits the 2.5 x 3.5 frame and cut it out.
What I did to finish off the back was to mount them
on full sheet label paper and then trim around that to have
a nice clean back. Then I took a wide clear tape and
put my business card on the back. This way I had a finished
card with my info to trade with.

My idea was to interest the other gallery members to do the
same and have a section in the gallery where we would have
these available and encourage other artists to come and
start trading with us. This being another way to invite artists
to join the gallery and or become friends of the gallery.

      ATC 2

The next batch are ones that are done on the Daniel Smith
Ampersand boards. The same ones that I showed you up
above in the article. I have glued a hanger on the back side
so they can be put up in the gallery for sale and I also
painted them with future floor polish to protect the surface.
I have selected three of them to be mounted on samples I
got from Home Depot for free. It is the large size samples
they hand out for counter tops. They make a nice presentation
this way and thought you might like this idea to use yourself.

And here are the mounted ones on the samples from Home
Depot ready to hang.

For any who had to wait for supplies this last month there
was a delay from the Netherlands because they changed
suppliers and got quite back ordered for awhile.

Also think ahead if you are going to want to order materials
from me in January as I am going to go to Mexico for two
months and may have to shut down the supplies during that
time.  I might not have time to do this newsletter during
that time either.

If you are going to be close to Gallery North in Edmonds
During the Month of December I will be the feataured artist
along with my gallery mate Stan Rust that does the wood
turned bowls. Our show is THE ART OF WAX AND WOOD.
We will have a reception on Dec 11th from 1-5  and also
there is art walk on the the third Thursday Dec 16th  from
5-8pm. Please come for these events as I would love to
meet you.

photographs
  Journey Of Sight And Sound
I had fun combining images and sound with video. Hope you
enjoy.
I also have another video clip on ideas with the stylus
at youtube that you can see here
on Stylus Tips
Finally because I am not sure I am going to have time to do
a newsletter for the next few months I am stacking up this
month to hold you over.

I have also finished my store that I mentioned
in earlier newsletters and I will be continuing to add to it
on an ongoing basis. Right now some of the items are at
an introductory price and when the store is arranged they
will change. That address is
