Welcome again to look at this European style of Encaustic Painting.
I will do a few large A2 size paintings off the pancake griddle, but then I will go back to the A6 size for those that are more comfortable with the smaller size. Actually after messing up big time on the painting below I wiped it all off and started over. I did the swirls with some wadded up Kleenex and then dabbed those with some wadded up Kleenex dipped in black. Never give up the ship.... This one I ended up calling Energy Nests...

Next lets call this painting, who's on first? The bird and fish were traced on the wax with art carbon paper using some images I found online.
Now that is enough of the large A2 size, let us go back to the small A6 card size... The oblong shapes were done with the side of the iron with a sliding motion.
 A few familiar landscapes.

I liked the way this one below turned out.

And another using the hot air gun...

I should do more water scenes....

The next seven images I used a ball tip from a new stylus to create some of these effects. I will post that tool here if you want to order it. I will get in a limited supply. There are some aspects I like about this tool as it has an on off switch and is heavy enough so it will not slide off the table and the points screw in which some have liked better than the set screw.

Cost of this stylus is $42.00 including shipping. They will be availabe mid October and you can order them with Paypal.

Notice the round small ball like images, that is from the point I just talked about. I am also going to experiment with this ball tip to see if I can have it remade to fit into the other stylus that I sell. I will let you know if I succeed.

This one is an 8.5 x 11 size image. I used the transfer method to put the outline down on the wax background.

Here is an example of taking an image done on an ink jet printer and dipped in clear wax on the back side and then some of the background sky done with the iron on the backside as well. Flip it over and use the stylus to fill it in.
I found a lot of images like this that you can download from a site on line. The site is calleld TwistedPapers.com.
Go check it out as you can also do transfers with carbon paper on wax surfaces as well. I will do some more of these to show you next month. Get out those irons and melt some wax.
A PS for those who would like to try this Constant Contact program I use to keep in touch with your clients you can either use this link or the lower bottom right graphic is also a link for a free trial. I love it myself and easy to use.
