Greetings!
The board would like to thank all those exchanges that took time from their very busy schedules to attend the 25th Anniversary Convention of NATE, the largest turnout in many years.
It has been a trying year - full of change and growing pains. Our deepest appreciation goes to all those who hung in there with us to weather the storm, and come out on the other side with tremendous support and enthusiasm. The sense of renewed energy and willingness to contribute time going forward in the association to make it grow was tremendous.
Our association is a warm group of exchanges with the willingness to learn, teach and share experiences to help each other grow and prosper - this was never more apparent than this convention - this IS NATE. With every member's help, we can take this attitude of rebirth to grow the association to record levels. Again - great thanks - we hope everyone had a wonderful time.
Your Nate Board of Directors

The Costume Party
NATE members really got into the Halloween this year. There were two contests, best company theme & best individual costume. Rich Harris (National Commerce Exchange, St. Louis) and Ken Paer (National Trade Exchange, Long Island)had the difficult task of picking a winner.
The winner of the best company theme was Barter Business Exchange - Left to right - Hayley White, Molly Purcell, Maurya Lane, and Elizabeth Powell.

The individual costume was too close for our judges to decide a winner. They narrowed the field down to three and decided to let the members decide the winner.
The three finalists were Mary Nove, Executive One, Ken Flemmons, Southern Barter Exchange, and Karen Welch, We Trade Network. (left to right)

The winner is Karen Welch of We Trade Network!

"Words cannot describe the effort and accomplishment Gary and Rachel have achieved in bringing NATE back to life, in my opinion, "THE BEST" convention ever! It was fun, everyone was relaxed, and everyone actually enjoyed each others company. The staunch boring banquets rewarding and praising the "good ole boys" are finally gone forever!"
-- Tanya Galdamez, Crescent City Trade

"This convention brought back what I've always liked about NATE- exchanges helping each other. The 25th was all about getting back to the basics, what has made the barter industry work well for thousands of our members. Congrats on a great convention and the ideas that came out of it!
--Kenn Flemmons, Southern Barter Exchange "The convention was a huge success"
-- Maurya Lane, Barter Business Exchange
