Greetings!

Happy New YearHappy New Year! Here we are at the beginning of another year. What resolutions do you have for 2011? Do you want to lose weight, exercise more regularly, or even run a marathon? BBT would like to help you attain your resolutions for improved health this year. Wellness is important not only to improve your health and the quality of your lifestyle, but it also affects your health care costs. When you work to improve your health status, you also avoid costly medical procedures and are better equipped to understand and manage conditions for which you may be at risk.

To help you meet your wellness goals in 2011, we will highlight a different wellness module offered through MyHealthMedia each month. Read the article below to learn more about this exciting online program.

Prevention 101 is focusing on colon health this month.

At the beginning of each year it is important to review your insurance coverage to see if you have everything you need. BBT also provides Long-Term Care insurance, which is available at any time during the year. If you are interested in obtaining this coverage, contact Randy Yoder at ryoder_bbt@brethren.org or 800-746-1505, ext. 362, for an appointment.

We at Brethren Insurance Services wish you a healthy and prosperous 2011.

Resolutions done right through MyHealthMedia
HealthyDo you have one (or a few) New Year's resolutions you're hoping to actually stick to in 2011? Brethren Insurance Services wants to help you turn those resolutions into new lifestyle patterns. That's why we want to introduce you to MyHealthMedia, an online coaching service we offer that can be with you each day, helping you take each step toward your health objectives. We offer this service to our members for free.

Personal, confidential, convenient, and non-judgmental, Digital Health Coaching constructs automated counseling sessions around your personal issues and needs. The Digital Health Coach will learn about you, craft a comprehensive plan to fit your unique situation, and follow up over time to keep you on track. Whether your goal is overcoming smoking or insomnia, making better choices regarding exercise and nutrition, or managing a chronic health concern, MyHealthMedia's Digital Health Coaching can help you meet your goals.

To begin working with this free MyHealthMedia service, you might want to complete a Wellness Profile. We'll take a close look at your health and give you an overview of the good and the not-so-good. (Don't worry, we're not perfect either). You'll get the big picture in your plan, including a lifestyle score, priority behaviors, and action steps to help you make changes you're ready for. We'll start with a brief but thorough questionnaire. Don't worry if you can't finish it all in one sitting -- we'll save your progress after every page, and you can pick up where you left off at any time.

To use MyHealthMedia, you must have a login ID for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield's Web site. If you already have a login ID, visit www.highmarkbcbs.com, log in, and click on Your Health. Then, click on Improve Your Health. Click on the health goal you hope to pursue in the new year, and then click on the Take the Wellness Profile link above the yellow daisy icon.

If you have not registered at Highmark's Web site yet, you may do so by clicking on the Register Now link at www.highmarkbcbs.com. Registration is only available to Brethren Medical Plan members.
