Want to Join the Robotics Team? |
Wamogo is joining forces with Litchfield High School to form a collaborative First Robotics Competition Team! We are looking for interested students who would love the challenge of designing, building and programming a life size robot that will compete against other high school teams both State and Region wide. Top performing teams are eligible for scholarship money.
Our collaborative team will begin meeting after school in mid-December and will go through mid-March at times that will likely be after most sports practices. Mrs. Dight and Mr. Parkinson will be the faculty advisors from Wamogo. We are looking for interested parent volunteers as well. If you or someone you know would like to lend their engineering, construction or programming expertise, we would love to hear from you.
Please check out this link to get a feel for what a First Robotics Competition is all about:

If you or your child would like to be a part of this ground breaking team or just want to know more, please contact either Mrs. Dight at ldight@rsd6.org or Mr. Parkinson at sparkinson@rsd6.org.

"Chose Character Over Bullying" with Cary Trivanovich
|
|
The following is an excerpt from Cary Trivanovich's website:
"When Cary added a message to his school assemblies early in his career, his intention was merely to encourage the students who were victims of the "mean kids" at school. This was in the mid 80's, before the word bullying was coined as the standard title for this problem and became the focus of concern in America's schools. Because of Cary's substantial message on the subject, as well as his uncanny connection with kids and teens, Cary became known for his unprecedented school assemblies for bullying prevention. Little did he know that one day his would be America's leading school assembly programs on what would become the most important topic for school speakers."
Mr. Trivanovich's school assembly program, Choose Character Over Bullying, will be presented to parents on December 1st in the Wamogo auditorium at 7:00 p.m. In addition, students will be attending his program during the school day on December 2nd. Please click on this link to go to his website!
We are fortunate to have Mr. Trivanovich coming to Wamogo and we hope that you can attend the evening parent program on December 1st.
