Midwest Starz Competition Information

All company dancers will compete at Midwest Starz at Monticello High School, April 29-May 1. Monticello is a 45 minute drive from the studio (41 miles). Many of our families choose to stay at a hotel near or in Monticello for all or part of the weekend. If you are interested in staying at a hotel, we recommend the AmericInn in Rogers (www.americinnrogers.com). Besides this hotel, there are many wonderful places to stay close to Monticello High School.

If your dancer has props for her dance, please check in with her teacher to make sure that there are enough people to move the props on and off the stage. We appreciate any help we can get with moving props during competition weekends.

Printed schedules are available at the studio. Please note that the following dances have changed from the schedule sent last Friday - these are the new days and times:

Rock Me Amadeus - Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Star Wars - Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Kylie - solo

All other dances will be on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. A specific time schedule will be available one week prior to the competition.
Costumes
  • All costume pieces must be clearly labeled.
  • Costumes, accessories and supplies must be well organized before each competition.
  • Costumes must be kept covered and clean. Once you are finished in a costume, please pack it immediately to avoid damage or loss.
  • You are responsible for all undergarments (available at Step N Stretch and discountdance.com). These must be fully covered by the costume or have clear straps. Underwear is generally not worn with dance costumes. If it is absolutely necessary, make sure that it does not show and that underwear lines are not visible.
  • If a costume piece is lost or destroyed by one dancer, that piece cannot be worn again by any team members. Please be careful with your costumes and have a clear plan for repacking after each use.

Thank you to everyone who has helped with costume alterations and enhancements!

All B & C Company dancers run through dances from 7-9 p.m.

Tuesday, June 14:

Nationals 2011 Pep Rally!

ALL Company dancers run all dances from 5-8 p.m.

All dancers should stay for the entire pep rally to support and encourage your teammates. Get excited! This is our last practice before Nationals!!
