Dear ,
Proliferation a growing concern: Maine is the latest evidence
Maine legalized its first casino in Bangor in 2003. Maine legalized its second casino - a slots barn in Oxford County - this November. And outside Maine's polling places on Election Day, paid petition gatherers were already at work collecting signatures for a referendum measure to allow yet more Maine casinos.
Please don't buy the false claim that casino gambling can be "limited."
No Maine consensus for casinos
The Maine casino vote was almost exactly tied, 50/50 for/against, showing that following extensive public debate where both sides were sufficiently funded to make their case, the public is deeply divided, even in the face of current economic conditions. New Hampshire legislators should ignore the slanted polls paid for and promoted by Millennium Gaming, the Las Vegas company pushing hardest for casinos in New Hampshire.
