Julianna Buttner, A local Farmingville resident was three years old when she diagnosed with cancer in 2006. After a long battle of two and a half years of chemotherapy she went into remission but in Sept. 2009, the leukemia returned. Doctors now say a bone marrow transplant is her only hope. She has been in Newsday a few times over the past few weeks.
They had a bone marrow drive for her at the Farmingville Fire Dept and over 2,600 people came to show their support and see if they were a match. As of yet, there is not. If you would like to see if you are a bone marrow match you can still register.
Also, in conjunction with Radio station 107.3 FM, a lights synced to music fundraising drive will be starting Sunday December 6th.
The times are as follows on
Sundays - Thursdays from 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Friday and Saturday from 5:30 PM - 11:00 pm.
Address is 16 Lidge Drive, Farmingville NY 11738
Lights and lawn decorations that will flash, fade, twinkle and dance synchronized to the music. Participants will have a donation lock box and all donations will go to the Julianna for Hope Foundation.
