Clairmont Farms Winter Recovery Issue

Its been a long and hard Winter for most of us!  Lots of rain and wet weather and dampness here and lots of snow and REAL cold back East.  But Spring is here, and we are here to help with some new products for facial recovery and some specials to also help the face and lift the spirits!

Clairmont Farms Face Cream

NEW REJUVENATING

FACE CREAM

We have been asked for face cream many times, so by popular request - here it is!  This face cream is made by mixing our paraben free hand and body lotion with a concentrated jelly of Aloe.  Then we add MARINE collagen, and extra amounts of vitamins A, C, D, and E.  Its consistency is creamy smooth, but not greasy in any way.  It soaks into the skin and rejuvenates as you leave it on. No land animal products are used in any of our products and all of our products are cruelty free!

This product will normally sell for $12, but we are offering it as an introductory special at $10 this month!

Downtown

NEW SALES LOCATION IN

DOWNTOWN LOS OLIVOS

This is a BIG step forward for Clairmont Farms.  Most of you who get this newsletter have been to the Farm and Los Olivos, and may even be familiar with "The Garlic Guy", Poul,  who farms and sells specialty gourmet garlic on the little lot across from R Country Store, and behind the big restrooms that are so popular with the wine tasting crowd!

We will be in the little lot with Poul and the garlic, Tom who does the beautiful glass etching and Rick the photographer.  If you can't make it up the hill on the weekend, stop in and say "HI".

Honey Wash Special

HONEY WASH  SPECIAL 2 FOR $14

Honey is an amazing substance.  It makes a mild hydrogen peroxide when mixed with water (as on the face), deep cleans, kills bacteria, and draws moisture to the surface of the skin - and yes - it temporarily acts as a wrinkle treatment.  But most of all, it just clears up the skin and nourishes it with antioxidants.  We take the raw honey that we get from our local beekeeper, and we warm it only slightly and add small amounts of lavender, rose, gardenia and orange oil.  The amount of orange is only a tiny hint to avoid sun sensitivity.  We have lots of customers who LOVE this product and use it all the time!    Just type "washing with honey" into Google There are some amazing cases and testimonials to the power of honey.

REED DIFFUSERS TO LIFT THE MOOD

Difusser and Refill

PYRAMID ROOM DIFFUSER

LIFT YOUR MOOD AND SPIRIT

$18 SPECIAL

We have 22 of these nice diffuser bottles we bought when the regular square ones were unavailable a few weeks last year. Our regular square ones hold 6 oz of liquid, and these hold 5.  Our regular mix of base to lavender oil is one oz of oil and 5 oz base. But to be honest, most people seem to like the bigger square one, and Glenn is getting tired of looking at these guys just sitting on the shelf - so here is a tempting special until these 22 units are gone.  When the last one is sold, Glenn will delete the item from the shopping cart so that no one places an order that can't be filled right away!

We will still add the whole oz of oil, and the base will be 4 oz, so it is almost the same, maybe just a little more lavender scent.   And our diffuser refill (6oz) will still work fine, there will just be an oz of "refresher" left before you have to buy another one!!!AND while we are at it - we'll  do a special on the refills.  Usually they are $25 - but we will make them $20 for this month.

SO  CLICK HERE to get one of the 22 diffusers

FARM STUFF - TRACTORS, MOWERS AND WEEDS WEEDS WEEDS
Case 990

CASE 990 TRACTOR

Meryl has had this "good 'ol boy" since the mid 70s.  He still runs fine, but needs rings - sooo Glenn has put 50 weight racing oil in the motor and connected the crankcase vent into the air intake - and guess what- no more smoke!   Glenn has the benefit of a friend to consult back East who lives next door to his mother's house.

Frank grew up on a farm in Northern PA, where they had a quarry, raised corn, and heated with wood.  Frank has fixed any and all kinds of farm equipment.

BRUSH HOG MOWER

This little gem has been sitting for about 12 years in the same spot.  A cable broke on the riding mower and Glenn decided to see what could be done with this monster while the cable was ordered.  Well - we pried it up off the ground and put on blocks, greased the universal joints on the drive shaft, filled the gearbox with oil - did a lot of wire brushing, penetrating oil and the like and ---IT WORKS.

BLADE ASSEMBLY

This is what rotates under the brush hog mower, and this is how it looked when Glenn took it off to sharpen the blades and straighten it out.   They are supposed to go out straight - but - they bend like this if you hit anything so they don't break.  This thing is HEAVY-

in fact its not unlike a barbell set for lifting weights.

COMPUTER PROBLEMS ORDERING?

We have had a few instances where people were unable to access the shopping cart, or the order "wouldn't take" - and one person even got a message that the site was unavailable for "personal reasons".  Let us assure you that we host with GO Daddy - we have all the SSL security and all of that in place, and everything is available 24/7.  They are one of the biggest most reliable hosting operations in the world!!  When these things come up it often has to to with the browser on the computer being used.  But without getting to the whole computer thing - let us just say this - if you have any problems or frustrations ordering online. JUST CALL US AND WE"LL BE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR ORDER ON THE PHONE 805-688-7505.  OR email us at info@clairmontfarms.com.  We will take care of you the old fashioned way with personal service!

THANKS!!!!!

So once again thanks for reading our newsletter.  Things are realy picking up for us here.  The Winter was a long one, and we are delighted its over.  Business is really picking up, and with our new location downtown, we expect a real boost.  Several limo and tour people have already stopped in and asked about the farm and bringing groups.  Plus lots of people just decide to come up the hill, as its only 2 minutes away!

And while we didn't mention them, the chickens are laying LOTS of eggs.  Our only worry is that Runty the bug chaser on You Tube has had pnumonia, and we are worried about her. She has been sleeping inside where its warm and with a humidifier, and gets medicated daily.  Today may se a trip to an avian specialist in Santa Barbara.  But the good news is she is still eating melons and tomatoes - we just need to keep enough going in to keep her from being dehydrated.  Chickens are very fragile, and once they show symptoms, its often too late.  We were lucky because Runty is one of the ones that is very people oriented, and when she became sick, she came to the front door instead of going to the hen house to roost.  Being able to get her medicated sooner rather than later was absolutely critical for her.

Sincerely,

Meryl and Glenn
