The annual Ma'ema'e Elementary School Family Night is a family-oriented community event that strives to increase fellowship amongst our Ma'ema'e Elementary School families, staff and community partners.

Time: 2:30 - 8:00 PM
We're looking to recruit parents who would be willing to serve on the committee for at least 2 years to ensure continuity in the following areas:
· Event Co-Chair #1 & #2 (2 people)
- Specific to Co-Chair #1: Able to oversee the Food & Beverage and Shopping subcommittees
- Specific to Co-Chair #2: Able to oversee the Activities and Publicity subcommittees and help with overseeing Logistics subcommittees
- Meet with Event Chair once a month at Ma`ema`e Elementary School (able to bring children to meetings) - dates and times to be decided together
- Able to recruit volunteers onto subcommittees when the need arises
- Will assume Family Night Event Chair role in SY2011 - 2012 or SY2012 - 2013. The current Event Chair will be able to MENTOR and/or help until SY2013 - 2014, so she will not desert you. J
· Country Store Co-Chairs (2 people)
- The Country Store consists of fruits, vegetables, packaged goods, unopened CDs and DVDs, potted plants, and so forth. It's very similar to a Farmer's Market.
- Order supplies and ingredients for area
- Send contact list of potential donors to our Silent Auction Chair by November 30, 2010, so she can send out the solicitation letters on our Family Night's behalf
- Follow-up on solicitation letters of your potential donors by phone and/or email starting January or February
- Arrange for pick-up or delivery of items to the school
- Work with Cafeteria Manager to temporarily store refrigerated items until reefer arrives on Family Night
- Recruit fellow parents at Ma`ema`e Elementary School to help pick-up items
- NOTE: Access to truck or van will be very helpful. Your busiest time will be 1 week prior to Family Night because of the pick-ups from different locations.
· First Aid Chair (NEW POSTING)
- Ensure we have sufficient first aid supplies for event night
- Take care of your on-site volunteers
- Recruit fellow parents at Ma`ema`e Elementary School to help out
· Hamburger & Waffle Hot Dog Shadow Chair (NEW POSTING)
- Request for bids from inflatable companies
- Be our liaison with the designated inflatable (i.e. bouncy houses) company
- Take care of your on-site volunteers
- Recruit fellow parents at Ma`ema`e Elementary School to help out
· Inflatables Co-Chair
- Request for bids from inflatable companies
- Be our liaison with the designated inflatable (i.e. bouncy houses) company
- Take care of your on-site volunteers
- Recruit fellow parents at Ma`ema`e Elementary School to help out
· Malasadas Cooking Co-Chairs (2 people)
- Coordinate cooking efforts
- Take care of your on-site volunteers
- Recruit fellow parents at Ma`ema`e Elementary School to help out
· Parking Co-Chairs (2 people)
- Manage 4 parking lots on event night: Wyllie Street main school parking lot, Big Field parking lot, Community Church, and Chinese Church (both across of Nuuanu Avenue) parking lots.
- Order supplies for area
- Work with Ma`ema`e Elementary School parents and Boy Scouts and HPD Explorers youth group to manage traffic flow of parking lots.

· Security / HPD Liaison Co-Chair
- Assist our current Security Chair in recruiting volunteers from the Honolulu Police Department, Sheriffs, and other "persons of authority" to ensure a safe event on Family Night. We are especially interested in recruiting Ma`ema`e parents who work in these occupations.
- Manage campus security efforts from 1:30 - 8:00 PM.
