Mark Linden, CEC AAC JULY 2012 From the Range Greetings Fellow Culinarians and Associates Summer is upon us, however the sun and heat do not seem to be cooperating too much. I hope you find the time to enjoy what summer may offer this year. We will not have a meeting in the month of July due to the annual ACF conference in Orlando this year. I will bring back information to all of you as to what is happening on the national scene as well as what the future seems to be shaping up as. I read a recent quote and feel it has much merit so I will leave this with you to ponder... The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. -Michelangelo June Summer BBQ A special thanks to all members who came out to enjoy some barbeque, beer and wine. It is always nice to get together without a meeting format just to catch up and enjoy a great summer day. We hope to continue this tradition on the years to come. Volunteer Opportunities
The annual Special Olympics Fundraiser has come and gone. We are forever indebted to Chefs Tony Parker and John Fisher for heading this up each year. The funds received for our chapter after expenses is around $9,000. View Special Olympics volunteer event pictures here. The Governors Inaugural Ball slated for January of 2013 is off and running as far as initial meetings go. Once again we have been asked to provide the reception event for this ceremony. It is the 100th anniversary of the Hall of Justice so there is a lot of hype surrounding this. Stay tuned for announcements of assistance needed. We will begin the serious planning for this event at our August Meeting. August Meeting
This is scheduled to be a Board of Director's retreat to plan out the upcoming years activities. It will be on August 20th. The time will be from 4Pm to 6PM. The location may change.
