Message from your President

I hope all of you have been able to take some time off work and to enjoy our wonderful summer. Our weather as you know has been fantastic; the Salmon runs have been good and all our fresh local fruit and vegetables to enjoy.

Our annual golf tournament at McCormick Woods was a great success. This year we teamed up with our Washington State Restaurant Association. It was a fun time for all golfing for scholarship for all of our students, enjoying the great food and networking with the participants. A special thanks for Fiona and Tamas Ronyai, Lyle Hildahl for their excellent organizational skills, passion for helping our students and hard work to make this a successful and enjoyable tournament.

Nominations for president and secretary and three board positions will start at this meeting and end at our October meeting.  Elections will take place in November.  I highly recommend getting involved.

From now until December we are concentrating on increasing our professional and culinarian membership.  Did you know as a professional or culinarian member if you sponsor two such members makes all of you eligible to get two full years of membership for the price of one.  Act now to take advantage of this offer.  A special application form is required - contact Fiona Ronyai

We are quickly filling up our meetings calendar for 2010.  If you would like to host a chapter meeting or present an educational segment to our membership please contact Fiona Ronyai for details.  This is a great opportunity to show off your facilities or your knowledge.

See you in September

GOLF TOURNAMENT A GREAT SUCCESS!

The first annual combined Washington State Chefs Association and Washington Restaurant Association Education Foundation Tournament held on August 3 at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard was a fantastic day of fun and food. 110+ golfers enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by FSA while taking part in some fun contests.  Working their way around the course each hole was hosted by a different sponsor.  After a hot day the dinner provided by US Foodservice was a welcome end to the festivities as prizes were give out.  Great raffle prizes completed the day.  We want to thank everyone who took part - check out all of our sponsors to the right.
Look forward to seeing you there next year.
