All volunteers and sponsors who worked with us on The Governors Inaugural Ball, The ACF Western Regional Conference and Special Olympics lunch preparation are invited to be our guest at Muckleshoot Casino for a chocolate presentation by Matthew Carter of Carter's Chocolates and buffet dinner prepared by Chef Clinton Jones and his culinary team. Everyone must reserve in advance so we may give the casino a proper number of attendees. A special thank you to Chef Gene Fritz and Chef Isaac Frerichs for hosting our May meeting at
Seattle Kitchen Academy The focus was on education - "The Buzz about Honey". We learned how to start, maintain and reap the rewards of having your own beehives. The health and taste advantages of natural honey were highlighted. This informative presentation was followed by a tasting and a cooking demonstration on how to use honey in savory and sweet dishes. Students and seasoned chefs alike came away with new knowledge. Thank you also for the tour of your state of the art facility. We appreciate the support you have shown the association.
Washington State Chefs Association is always looking for volunteers and people to get involved in the organization. If you are interested in helping with the apprenticeship program, competitions, community events or helping with monthly meetings please contact Fiona Ronyai for more information.
