Greetings!
Summer is drawing to a close and we here at CSS hope you and your family
have had a blast this season, whether you were at the beach, traveling, or
enjoying a "staycation"! We're sad to see summer go, but we have lots of things
to be excited about as we turn the corner towards Fall, and we want to share
that excitement with you!
First of all, I want to thank you for all the support
that you have given Community Support Services, Inc. during this summer season.
Whether you volunteered or made a gift, your support has helped make summer
activities and programs like the summer camp, Ocean City
beach vacation, and CSS Annual Olympics a big success.
I also wanted to tell you about an exciting new opportunity for Community
Support Services, Inc. We have been selected by the GlobalGiving Foundation to participate
in its Open Challenge, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit
organizations working around the world. Global Giving connects donors to
community-based projects, and offers donors confidence by providing them with
pre-screened causes, guaranteed regular progress reports, and more efficiency
than the average charity.
In order to succeed in GlobalGiving's Open Challenge, CSS must raise $4,000
from 50 donors by September 30th, 2010. If we meet this
threshold, we will be given a permanent spot on GlobalGiving's website, where
we have the potential to benefit from corporate relationships, exposure to a
new donor network, and access to dozens of online fundraising tools. In
addition, we could earn as much as $3,000 in financial prizes for raising the
most money.
Please help us reach the threshold of $4,000 from 50 donors! Be one of the
first people to make a donation at http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/teach-healthy-living-skills-to-adults-with-autism/ Not only will your donation help support
our Garden to Table program where we teach adults how to cook healthy meals and
grow food, it will help us take advantage of a long-term fundraising
opportunity!
We're also going to need your help spreading the word!
Please share this opportunity with your friends and family! Thank you, as always, for your continued support!
Sincerely, Ashley Parker Communications & Development Manager Community Support Services, Inc.

What is Global Giving?
GlobalGiving connects individual and institutional donors directly to
social, economic development, and environmental projects around the world.
GlobalGiving has a public site, www.globalgiving.org, where anyone can
browse projects in thematic or geographic areas.
GlobalGiving was founded by two former World Bank executives who are using
the Internet to create a highly efficient marketplace that enables more funding
to reach projects throughout the globe and, at the same time, provides a more
transparent, engaging way for donors to give.
Highly connected to social media, GlobalGiving allows donors to share their interest in a cause, invite their friends to learn more, and connect on a personal level with the organization and the project they are supporting.

How can I help?
You can help CSS achieve our $4,000 Open Challenge goal in a number of ways:
- Give a gift! There are a variety of amounts you can select that correspond with REAL program action. You can learn more by visiting our project page.
- Ask your friends to give. Have you shared with your friends and family the impact CSS has made on the life of your loved on? Start today! Tell them about CSS and our project.
- Organize a fundraiser. Host a dinner party and provide access to a computer for guests to give, or, collect donations. Learn more about sending checks to Global Giving here.
- Forward this email to your network. Share with the project page link on your Facebook page. Tell your co-workers, congregation, neighbors, book club members. People are more likely to support a cause or charity when they have a personal connection to it- and that's you! There's an easy link to forward this email at the bottom of the page.
