Greetings!
WOW! What a great time witnessing at the Dallas Christmas Parade. We had 20 evangelists join us including three from out of state and a fourth from out of town. Please read the BLOG for details.
Last week I recommended attending the Living Waters Ambassadors Academy in As You Go Part 10. This week, there is even more compelling news to attend. Living Waters has announced that they have slashed the price in half. You can now register for only $300. Mande is planning to attend in March. Why not join her there?
This weeks blast includes a testimony from Ruth Thompson. I hope you will enjoy reading how Ruth has incorporated the "As You Go" concept into her daily routine!

My Simple Story |
|
By: Ruth Thompson
To our friends old and new that read this newsletter....please come
along with me, a simple housewife, who loves the Lord passionately, and
desires that my life be used to Glorify Him. After arising in
the morning, having devotions and prayer time with my husband Eldon, we
then go about our separate duties for the day. Sometimes they involve
each other, and yet other times we are on our own. Eldon has
taught evangelism for over 20 years, but when he returned from the
Ambassadors Alliance he was extremely excited. Not only was he excited
about sharing his faith, but the fire spread to me. Please don't get me
wrong, we always shared our faith.....but something was ignited in both
of us!!! My very simple life is bringing many of you to the
Lord in prayer. But something got a hold of me when he arrived home
and that is seeing the lost as God sees them. So I packed up my purse
with tracts and Bibles, along with an overflow for the car and off I
went about my errands of the day. Nothing too exciting, grocery
shopping (yes must give the clerk a tract), gas station (WOW another
opportunity to give someone else a tract and share a bit of the law and
the gospel....boy was he thrilled)...next stop....Tim Horton's Coffee
Shop...and there I gave a tract and a loonie(dollar tip----I am
Canadian), but no I have not finished my errands. Next stop was the
garage...Eldon was in Africa and it was up to me to get the tires
changed...and I knew nothing about this task, so my wonderful
neighbors came along with me to ensure I received the correct
tires(God bless them)....while waiting in the waiting room I had an
opportunity to give the manager a tract and share the law and the
gospel with him, and then there were also others waiting so again I got
out my tracts, and shared with them....let me tell you no one refused a
tract....NO ONE!!!! But I am not finished as of yet, I had to go and
pick up our daughter to take her to Hamilton for a doctors
appointment......and yes after all the tests, and his questioning of
her symptoms etc. we came to the end of the appointment and he said he
would be traveling overseas for a few weeks and would not see her.
The thing is, the doctor that recommended us to see him, was formerly
in a church Eldon pastored. He loves the Lord but did not know how his
friend was doing spiritually. Well I quickly assessed the situation,
and prior to leaving got out a tract and handed it to him. He stood
there and read it....and I quietly said you could place it in your
wallet and read it at a more opportune time....as he still had patients
to see. So before we left, he folded it and placed it in his
wallet......and so we pray.....for the grocery cashier, for the gas
station attendant, for the cashier at Tim Horton's, for the doctor, for
the manager and people in the waiting room at the tire shop........YOU
SEE IT IS AS WE GO.....in our everyday lives......we share the law and
the gospel.....and No One has refused to take a tract from me or a
Bible if I offer them one. My personal thoughts on this is
that sometimes we spend so much time doing (handing out tracts,
preaching on the street corners etc. etc.) and very little time in
prayer on our knees for these precious ones that we will witness to or
have been witnessed to. Prayer is the key, as well as going and sharing
and be ready to give an answer to the hope that lieth in you. I
trust this encourages you this New Year 2010 and throughout the New
Year.....TO BE FAITHFUL....AS YOU GO!!! I always thought my ministry
was in other areas but the Lord has shown me so clearly this is all a
part of it. So friends new and old, I beg of you, not to let
opportunities pass you by!!! Time is getting short. The harvest fields
are white.......PRAY.....OBEY....GO......you will know His joy as
you are obedient to the commands of His Word. Don't leave home
without your tracts and Bibles......YOU WILL NEED THEM!!!!!!
I go where you don't go, and you might go to a college that I don't
attend. Then there are firemen and women, policemen and women,
teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, colleagues at work, restaurants,
dentist, hygenist, and the list goes on and on and on!!!! But what
marvelous opportunities we have AS WE GO, to hand out a tract, to give
a Bible, to share the law and the gospel, to pray with those in need!!!!
Everyday
our time is becoming closer.....to the return of Christ!! Oh do you not
long for His coming.....I do!!! Yet 150,000 people die a day, and we
do not know the stats of how many of those are in heaven today. So what
are we going to do about it????? Nothing......my, oh my, I would not
desire to meet my Lord and Savior that way. Come along with me this new
year 2010, and let us see together what God can do with a life that is
completely sold out for Him. If you choose to send me your name, I will
pray for you. I believe God has great things in store for us this new
year as we yield ourselves completely to Him.
In His Perfect Love

These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
