Greetings!
Last week I was traveling on business in New York. I wrote about my experiences witnessing after work in the BLOG.

Part 3
In the first two parts of this series we have seen the power that Gospel tracts can have in bringing people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. First, in Brady's tract testimony, we heard a personal testimony of how the Gospel tract affected him personally. Then in the Frank Jenner story, we heard how people all around the world have come to Christ through the faithful efforts of one man.
This week, I'd like to turn our attention to what the world expects of Christians. A Christian believes that Jesus is the only way to heaven (John 14:6). If that is true, then all non-Christians are going to hell when they die. Right? And if that is true, then wouldn't it be reasonable to expect Christians to tell others how to avoid going to hell? Penn Gillette from Penn and Teller puts it this way, "how much do you have to hate someone to let them go to hell when they die?"
The sermon version of the video Interview With an Atheist provides a convicting look at this argument. It is a mere four minutes. I hope you will watch it and then consider the question, "am I doing what the world expects of me when it comes to evangelism?" We appreciate your prayers
- Pray for the development of new tracts for the tract club. Pray also for the continued growth of the tract club. Pray about who you can tell about the tract club! And if you are not a member of the tract club, then pray about enrolling.
- Pray for wisdom and strength in how to reach Carrollton, TX with the Gospel.
- Pray for witnessing opportunities for Carl on his trip October 19-23 to NY where he will be staying one block from Times Square. He has had a number of great witnessing encounters on his past two trips there.
- Pray for witnessing opportunities as we travel to San Antonio October 23-25.
- Pray for development of three videos for use in the Evangelism Training.
- Pray for the remaining 9 parts of this "As You Go" series.
- Organizational efforts for witnessing at the Dallas Christmas Parade on December 5th. This is one of the biggest events in Dallas each year. Last year the crowd was estimated at 400,000! Pray about your personal involvement. Could you hold a video camera and shoot video? Could you come and take pictures of the event? Could you work at a prayer booth? Could you hand out tracts? Could you pick up trash? Could you help go back and forth to the car and bring more tracts to those that are distributing? Can you pray for the event fervently - especially that God will raise up workers? Can you send a tax deductible donation to help cover the costs of printing as many as 50,000 Gospel tracts for this event?
- Pray for the "Origin Into Schools" project being organized by Living Waters as well as our team (including Duane Seaberg, Jon Speed, Mande and myself) as we head to University of Texas at Austin for this.
- Please pray for Moses in Uganda as he continues to take mission trips and share the Gospel. Please pray that the tracts we mailed over two months ago will arrive soon so that they can be used there. You can read an update about Moses in the Grace Bible Church monthly newsletter.
- Please pray for complete healing from brain tumor for Pastor Larry Brakenhoff of Alta Vista, KS. He and his church are members of the Tract Club and doing tremendous outreaches in central Kansas.

Witnessing Events
and Calendar

Monday's and Thursday's at lunch: witnessing at Valley View Mall, Galleria Mall, Gravevine Mills Mall, Irving Mall or Brookhaven College. If you would like to join us, please contact me for the specific location and time for a given day. October 15 - Basic Evangelism Training Seminar in Pilot Point from 7-9PM. Join us at 6:30 for fellowship and dinner. October 17 - Door to door in Carrollton. Contact me for details.
October 18 - Project Ezra at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
October 25 - Project Ezra - possibly at the Texas State Capital as we may stop in Austin to check out possible Origin into Schools locations at UT Austin. October 26 - This is our normal "Third Monday" Bezeugen Bible study. We are moved back one week due to scheduling for this month only. Dinner and fellowship is 6:30-7:30PM. From 7:30-8PM we have Bible study. If you are not able to attend in person, we will have a conference bridge open to discuss the Bible study. Dial: (218) 862-1000
