Greetings! This has been an exciting week. Mande and I got to participate in some of the events of our churches local mission trip. We also got the opportunity to do some ministry in Dallas with Mike Rios and his team. God's vision to reach Carrollton for Christ started becoming reality as I started going door to door to share the Gospel! I hope you will enjoy reading this weeks newsletter.

Carrollton For Christ
|
|
The Lord has given me a vision to take the Gospel to every household in
Carrollton, Texas. From my research this appears to represent about
40,000 households. Yesterday I got started. I started from my house,
turned left up the street and went around the block. Please read the rest of the article and watch the video on the blog!
If you are interested in helping with this effort then please email me.
We will schedule a brief training session over lunch or a cup of coffee
and then supply you with tracts and a format to gather prayer requests!

A Smile- by Mande Kalbfleisch

Smile! It helps the fear go away!
Saturday afternoon Carl and I went Downtown to meet Mike Rios and his group for street preaching. My goal in going was to video tape Carl's street preaching and hang out with him then visit some friends in Duncanville afterwards. Little did I know God had bigger plans for me that day. Carl and I ate lunch then headed down to the DART station to meet Mike and his crew. When we arrived there was a group of people that were sitting on a brick planter box that Carl engaged in a conversation. As the conversation kept going I noticed another guy trying to figure out what they were talking about. I walked over and handed him a wine bottle riddle tract and asked him if he could figure out the riddle then I walked back to the group about 15-20 feet away. That is big for me as I am not a "tract machine" like the male members of my family. As I was standing there I noticed that he had turned the card over and was reading it so I walked back over and asked him if he had figured it out or if he had cheated. He smiled really big and said he had cheated. He continued to have a huge smile on his face and was very friendly. I felt God urging me to continue the conversation so I said "What do you think about the other riddle? The one that asks where you will go when you die." He chuckled and told me that he would spend eternity in heaven. I looked puzled and asked him how he knew that. At that point he smiled big again and said "I put my trust in Jesus and asked him to forgive all my sins. The bible tell me my sins are forgiven and i will be in heaven. That's how I know!" We agreed that we would both see eath other in heaven one day and I told him to have a GREAT day. He told me that his day was blesed and he hoped I had a good day too. I walked away from that conversation in disbelief that I had actually even had that conversation. That whole process is something that has scared me for quite sometime. I never imagined it being so easy.
If fear is keeping you from doing what the Lord calls you to do, look for a small sign from God to help you get over it. For me it was the smile of a stranger. Who knows what it could be for you. I have had to learn to slow down and take time to check out the little things that God has for me each day. As I have made a effort to to this I have experienced God using the smallest things(a 2 year old @ VBS, a strangers smile) to get my attention.
I hope and pray that you will also slow down and notice the small things in like that God uses to touch you!

Project Ezra This week we took Project Ezra to the Dallas World Aquarium on Saturday. View a video of my reading of Genesis 3 and the preaching that followed reguarding why people die. On Sunday morning, I went to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, TX and read Genesis 1-9. Had a number of people walk by and hear the Gospel. Two people sat
down on the grass in front of me and listened intently. When I finished
one man said, "oh, I was hoping that you were just getting started". We
had a nice conversation. He had a Christian background and said my
presence there was reminding him that he needed to be in a better
relationship with Christ. I gave him a copy of Mark Cahill's book "One
Thing you Can't do in heaven". He asked if I came each week on Sunday
morning. I said yes. He said he would read the book and bring it back
to me when he is done.
In Dallas, DART buses have ads on the side of them. Recently, one of
the ads was for the Islam Hotline. The message says "Islam, Got
Questions?, Get Answers!" There is a toll free phone number to call to
ask your questions. Please read my blog entry to find out about my calls to the hotline!
