What a week at Ambassadors Academy 10! I hope you enjoy reading this weeks update.

| Sermon on the Mount

 Saturday, May 23
Tony Miano of Living Waters has posted the following challenge on Facebook:
Matthew 5-7 is commonly referred to as the "Sermon on the Mount." It is
the greatest sermon ever preached in the open-air--preached by the
greatest Preacher who ever walked the face of the earth--Jesus Christ.
Here's the mission:
Find
a public place in your community (street corner, sidewalk, public park,
etc). Stand atop a box or other sturdy object. And read the Sermon on
the Mount (Matthew 5-7) aloud, in the open air. Depending on how fast
you read, it will take you 10-15 minutes to read the Sermon on the
Mount, aloud.
You have more than a week to pray and pick a location(s) in your community.
"Mission
Good Friday" was our first effort of this kind. More than 170 people
from all over the world joined in reading Matthew 26-28 in the open
air. Some simply read the text. Others read the text and used it as a
springboard to open-air preach.
Please join us in bringing the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

I plan to participate. Still praying about locations around North Dallas. If you are in this area and would like to join me please let me know. Even just for moral support as an observer, I'd love to have you come out and hear me read God's Word and preach. If you are in another area, may I encourage you to take up this challenge as well!

I've been praying about how to summarize a mountain top experience in just a few words. Let me see if I can do it. Imagine meeting fifty like minded people who you have instant fellowship with. Throw in ten more leader volunteers and the staff of a great ministry (Living Waters). Lock us all in a room for two days for some of the best teaching ever. We heard from EZ, Tony, Mark, Scottie, Kirk, and Ray! We learned about God's call to share the Gospel, balancing marriage, family and witnessing, tips for open air and an inspiring message to never give quit! Next take this group to three of the best witnessing spots in Southern California: Hollywood Blvd, Glendale and Huntington Beach. Throw in the exhilaration of open air preaching, stop light preaching, one on ones and tract distribution in all of these locations. Add on top of that hours of fellowship with these wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ. Did I mentioned that in less than two hours I got to witness to people from four different continents!?! That begins to explain what the weekend was like. Let me share one experience while open air preaching on Huntington Beach. After some dollar trivia, Kyle eventually volunteered to do the Good Person test. We walked through it and he agreed his destiny is hell. I then shared the Gospel with him and his need to repent and trust Jesus. After I finished, he and his wife, Kaylee came over to talk with me. He was really encouraging to me saying that it took a lot of courage to get up and speak for what I believed in. He said he knew that I must really believe it to do that. He asked how he could reach me, so I gave him my card. He said he would consider what we had talked about! I have posted pictures to Facebook. There are many more stories to tell. So, if you'd like to hear more, give me a call or meet me for a cup of coffee. On Monday, May 16th, we will have our Third Monday Bezeugen Bible study at our house in Carrollton. We will use that time to watch some videos from the weekend, look at pictures and talk more about it. Please join us if you can. If you ever have a chance to attend an Ambassadors' Academy, I highly recommend it. There are three more dates for 2009! |
