"I try to make it a daily practice to share my faith, hand out tracts, witness one on one. It has not always been that way. In fact, about five years ago, my friend Brad Aldrich asked me to go hand out tracts with him. As he recalls the story, I said, "There is no way I would ever do that."
Perhaps as you have been reading this newsletter you may have gotten the idea that this is easy. Truth is, it is nerve racking, but it gets some easier each time.
Craig and I started studying "The School of Biblical Evangelism", a book of 101 lessons on Evangelism, in March 2006. After studying this for a few months, Mande and I were on our honeymoon. I was reading Ray Comfort's book, "The Way of the Master", and it was talking about handing out Gospel tracts. So as our flight landed in Dallas and pulled up to the gate, I turned to the couple in the seat behind us, handed them a Million Dollar Bill tract and said, "did you get one of these". Sounds easy enough. I was terrified. What would they think or say? Turns out they asked what it was, I told them "a Gospel tract" and they told me they had a church home. So it was nerve racking. But nothing bad happened.
Throughout history, God has used ordinary people like you and me to carry His message to a lost world. Yes, it can be scary. It is scary for me too! Would you like some help overcoming the fear of witnessing? Please come and join us at a Basic Evangelism Training Seminar. Learn how to use Gospel tracts in your daily life and a simple, effective, Biblical method to share the Gospel. The next seminar is Thursday night 7-9PM in Pilot Point. See the
web site for the logistics.
Let's step out of our comfort zones and share the Gospel with everyone we meet. Then one day we will hear Jesus say to us:
"Well done, good and faithful servant!"(Matthew 25:23)
