Evangelism Update
cross God is good!
This week we were able to witness at the Galleria Mall twice (Thursday and Monday at lunch) and at the Shops at Legacy on Sunday night. On Thursday, Craig and I were joined by Vern and Bill. We had a number of great conversations. Bill and I had a long conversation with a Jewish kiosk owner who took the time to explain his beliefs. We had a very nice conversation and had the opportunity to share the Gospel with him. On Sunday night, Mande, Brendan and I enjoyed pizza at Sal's at the Shops at Legacy. Then Todd and I spent about two solid hours witnessing to people on the streets there. Our last conversation was with a group of four teens. Two were muslim and two were Hindu. We had a very thought proovoking conversation with them. We left them each with a "Why Christianity?" booklet to read. Please pray for all of these folks to come to know our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Their names have been added to the names list on the web site.

Last fall, Todd and I met a man named David while witnessing at a Dallas Cowboys football game. I got his business card and had several long spiritual conversations with him on the phone afterwards. He said he would be thinking about these things. The other day I followed up with him. He is now worshiping regularly at a church in Grapevine. He did not indicate whether he has trusted Christ yet. But, I was encouraged to hear that he is "getting closer to God." Please continue to pray for him.
Islam 101
Cross Who is the Author?
On Saturday I attended part two of a five part class called Islam 101 at a mosque in Plano. This session was about Muhammad and the Quran. We were taught that Mohammad was an uneducated and illiterate man. However, he had high moral standards and was known for his honesty. It is said that he went into a cave a meditated and that the Quran was first revealed to him there. On that occassion when this revelation happened, Mohammad returned home so distraught from what had taken place that he contemplated suicide. Muslims believe that the angle Gabriel revealed the Quran to Mohammad. This belief is largely based on the fact that the Quran is written very eloquent arabic. They reason that there is no way that this uneducated illiterate man could have come up with it. So that rules him out. They reason then, that God revealed it to him. Let's look at that.

"Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: 'Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.'" (Luke 1:11-13)

"In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, 'Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.'  Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.'" (Luke 1:26-30)

When the angel appeared to Zechariah he told him not to be afraid. When he appeared to Mary, he told her the same thing. How come he did not also comfort Mohammad in the same way? Perhaps it is becuase this was not an angel from the Lord. Who else could produce eloquent arabic? How about the father of all lies; the devil!
