WELCOME! Anne Ellington, Vice President and General Manager
I'm often
asked why Sealoflex is so well know for innovation. When I came to this company over 15 years
ago, I was instantly impressed by the fact that the mandate set by founder and
owner Rob Kauffmann was that "we must always be a leader in the industry
through innovation." Simply put, we
never stop looking for improvements in our existing product line and ways to
fill niche markets with new products for the benefit of our customers --- and their
customers. What most people never see is
the excitement our research team exudes with every challenge we introduce. Phil Reuther and Larry Smith have a passion
for quality and both possess analytical minds that allow them to explore every
option. As a Polymer Chemist, Phil has a
tremendous knowledge from his many years in research and he has always
recognized that "good ideas come from everyone; manufacturing, peers, sales,
customers --- you name it. It's so great to
have a free exchange of ideas, especially when our customers prosper." Phil is very proud of his accomplishments at
Sealoflex and was responsible for bringing Larry Smith to the team; primarily
for heading up the Quality Control Lab.
But, Larry is quick to point out that unlike his previous employer,
Sealoflex also allows him the flexibility to help develop new products, while continuing
to work on ways to improve the existing range.
And, Phil and Larry both recognize and thrive on the challenge they face
daily; maintaining the highest standards in the industry.

Phil Reuther, left and Larry Smith One need
only look at our significant product line to realize we want to be your
one-stop-shop. From complete Systems and
Coatings & Finishes to our unique selection of Primers, Fabrics and
Accessories, Sealoflex has what you need for every roofing, wall and deck
application. As I've heard from so many
of our customers, "I Sealoflexed it
and we never had a problem."
Until next
month,

Sealoflex Salutes:
Cahill Contracting, LLC and Latitude Construction for outstanding results with Sealoflex Deck Systems!
Cahill
Contracting, LLC,
Cahill
Contracting, LLC is a family owned business run by father and son team Bill and
Chris Cahill. Since 2000 they have been
responsible for quality roofs throughout the greater Charleston
area and it was their significant presence in the exclusive I'On subdivision of
Mount Pleasant (just across the river from Charleston) that added
decks to their roster. According to Bill
Cahill, "so many of our customers were asking us to do their decks as well, that
we knew we were on to something. But, it
wasn't until we discovered Sealoflex that we knew this was a specialty we could
offer with confidence." Bill and Chris
have a philosophy that is deep-rooted in the requirement that they only do high
quality work. Simply put, "we would
rather walk away from a job than produce substandard results, even if it meant
putting more money in our pockets." "We
started with Sealoflex and never looked back," explains Bill. "We initially did our research in the
Miami/Dade County area and what we learned gave us great comfort that we were
dealing with a company that had the same philosophy as us; always strive for
the highest quality." When asked about
current market conditions, Bill was quick to point out that "we see business
picking up even though new housing starts are down, but by concentrating on
repairs and maintenance we're able to stay busy and focused.
Thanks
Bill and Chris Cahill! Your loyalty to
Sealoflex is much appreciated.
Scott
Blackmon, owner of Latitude Construction of Charleston, SC has been a big fan
of Sealoflex deck products for over 7 years, when he started his business. He first got the construction bug working for
his father and it was just a matter of time before he hung out his own
shingle. What makes Scott unique is that
his primary business is decks and he firmly believes his use of Sealoflex
products, coupled with his passion for quality is the reason he is still in
business today. Scott is also proud of
the fact that he has never advertised and gets all of his work through
word-of-mouth.
High
quality means every deck Scott and company do for a client requires the full
Sealoflex System along with
total prep and flashings. "We sink all nails
and sand every inch of the deck; then Buttergrade so we can hide the
seams. Sealoflex is an integral part of
every deck we do." In fact, Scott is
very proud of the fact that they will not waver from the full Sealoflex
application process under any circumstances.
"The Sealoflex deck products, applied as specified, produce beautiful
and long-lasting results each and every time.
I wouldn't do it any other way," Scott emphasizes.
Thank you
Scott Blackmon for your kind words about Sealoflex!

SALES SPEAK Don Moors, Sales Manager
We are pleased to again introduce CT FibreSeal White.
This product is a fiber reinforced, rubber-based, single component waterproofer
that is designed as a stand alone product for maintenance and repairs.
Many of you are familiar with CT FibreSeal and its ability to stop water
intrusion. Well, it is now available from your preferred Sealoflex
Distributor.
In March, Sealoflex
exhibited at the National Facilities Management and Technology Exposition
(NFM&T) in Baltimore and the RCI Trade Show in Dallas. We are pleased to have
participated in both shows. Attendance at the shows was good and
according to organizers, surpassed last year's levels. I would like to
thank all of you who stopped by to visit us at the Sealoflex booths. We
always appreciate the opportunity to visit with our customers and to meet new
friends.
As most of you know,
Sealoflex has been a main stay in the liquid applied waterproofing market on
the East Coast for over 30 years. Well, we are excited to announce we are
moving west. During the year, Sealoflex will be expanding into the Texas market. If
you are a Branch Manager distributing Sealoflex, and you have associates at
branches in Texas,
please mention to them Sealoflex's superior line of waterproofing products.
I will keep you updated in future newsletters concerning our westward
expansion.
We take much of our
direction from Sealoflex applicators, specifiers and distributors, so if you
have any suggestions, please contact us at 800-770-6466.

Tips for
Sealoflex Decks
If you
know Sealoflex, you know this is where we shine. We all know Sealoflex is a great
waterproofing system, but when it comes to being decorative, Sealoflex has
it covered (pardon the pun) better than anyone.
Outdoor
living space is becoming more and more important with our lifestyles
today. And, in true American fashion, we
want it all; we want it beautiful, durable, and easy to maintain. With all the colors and textures we have to
offer, we can definitely fulfill your expectations.
Our
original coating for trafficable decks is Wearcoat. Wearcoat is a basic protective coating that
comes in many colors and will last for years.
Our Coraflex is a step above.
Coraflex blends textures, colors, and patterns to create a very attractive
and durable finish. Frankly, the options
are limitless.
The best
part about our decorative finishes may be something you don't often think
about. It is an additional project
without even leaving your current project.
What I mean is this; usually the waterproofing contractor shows up and
installs the waterproof system, he then goes on to the next project. Meanwhile, someone else shows up the next day
to install something decorative, over your waterproofing, that he purchased
from an unknown supplier. Just think, if
you sold a Coraflex system, you would be that person showing up the next day to
install the decorative finish, and your supplier of Sealoflex products would be
that supplier of the decorative products.
I think they call that a twofer.
So my tip
for the day is make it a twofer and sell more Sealoflex.
Bill
