WELCOME! Anne Ellington, Vice President and General Manager
It has always be our policy at Sealoflex that we maintain an "open door policy" amongst the staff. Communication is key throughout all levels and it is truly the only way we can insure we meet your needs. The inspiration for this corporate attitude is no secret. How many times have we all seen minor communication issues escalate into major challenges, simply because someone was unable (or unwilling) to address a problem with a solution? We hope you will find a refreshing difference in your dealings with Sealoflex. Our goal is to meet your needs and address any concerns head on. There is an old proverb that suggests it takes years to gain a loyal customer and only seconds to lose one. Therefore, our goal is to provide outstanding customer service with great attention to detail. I'm so confident in the ability of our staff to offer such service that I would be delighted to hear from you with comments about how our employees have gone above and beyond. Please take a moment to let me know who has done something extraordinary and you might wind up winning a valuable prize. Details coming soon.
Much success to all and until our March edition...
Anne

 President's Message
(Rob Kauffmann, President and CEO)
Greetings from the Sealoflex UK offices. Our United Kingdom division has been working diligently to bring more and more Sealoflex products to the masses and I am often asked if there are any differences between American and European contractors. This got my mind working when I came to the realization that there were, indeed, subtle differences. For example, there is still an awareness of hot materials and the need for using dangerous gas torches, though many have now happily switched to our complete line of liquid applied waterproofing products. In many ways, this change in attitude reminded me of Sealoflex's entry into the US market back in 1987. We changed a lot of minds for the better. Also, it is interesting to note that in the UK, contractors are more interested in the "look" of a roof. For them, our coatings provide a neat and tidy appearance, whereas in the US it would seem that contractors are more interested in the "functionality" of the finished product. These are extremely valid desires and we are pleased to be able to satisfy both sides of the Atlantic. Our growth in the European Union continues in earnest. Through our strategic partnerships, Sealoflex is now found in 150 distribution locations in the UK alone, with new outlets opening monthly. We remain strong in Germany and our carefully orchestrated expansion plans include new territories hungry for Sealoflex. Keep your eye on upcoming newsletters for further details as we open up new countries. Exciting times are ahead. Finally, I did notice a unique use for CT Grey here in England. Apparently there is a significant problem with vandals stealing lead flashing for sale to unscrupulous scrap dealers. As this act of vandalism requires an expensive replacement, innovative contractors have discovered that Sealoflex CT Grey looks virtually identical to lead and protects better. And the cost savings are obvious. If you've found alternative uses for Sealoflex products, why not share them with us. We are always on the lookout for new and fresh ideas.
...AND, ANNOUNCING..... Although I am on the "other side of the pond" in the United Kingdom, I couldn't miss the opportunity to use our newsletter as a forum to congratulate someone who is near and dear to my heart, as well as so many others at Sealolfex. It is a privilege for me to announce the Sealoflex Top Salesperson of 2008: Silvia Cruzalvarez. Silvia and Sealoflex go back to 1999 when she first began representing us in South Florida. In the 11 years that have ensued, Silvia's rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Today she manages 22 stocking distributors and thanks in part to her attention to detail and absolute drive to succeed, Silvia has been responsible for the training of more that 600 contractors and is known throughout her territory as someone who always goes the extra mile for her people.
Besides just hard work, she attributes her success to:
- Good Time Management
- Providing strong support for her distributors, including applicator training sessions
- Teaming with individual contractors to help them sell the job
- Spending time with architects seeking specification of Sealoflex products.
With this kind of work ethic, it should be no surprise that Sealoflex is so prolific in South Florida.
Silvia, we are proud and pleased to award this honor to you. You are so admired by the entire Sealoflex family and we cannot wait to see what you do next.
Don Moors, Anne Ellington and Rob Kauffmann congratulate Siliva Cruzalvarez on achieving Top Salesperson at Sealoflex for 2008.
Well Done, Silvia!
Until next time.....

SALES SPEAK Don Moors, Sales Manager
In January,
Sealoflex participated in the Carolinas Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors
Association annual Mid-Winter Roofing Expo.
This event is held each year in Winston-Salem,
North Carolina and brings together the finest
roofing companies in North and South
Carolina. Even
during these tough times, the show was well attended and Sealoflex was proud to
be an exhibitor. The show gave us the
opportunity to meet with many old friends and to make several new friends.
As we roll
into spring, if you have a project that requires our assistance with specifying
or quoting, please allow your Sealoflex representative or our technical staff
in Charleston (800-770-6466) or Miami (786-999-9799) to assist you. Please remember we are also available at the
same numbers for any technical questions you may have.

TECH TALK Bill Young,Technical Manager, Applications and Warranties
I think Sealoflex CT is one of the best additions
to the Sealoflex product line. Do you
know what CT stands for? Let me give you
a tip, it was originally developed for the northeast market because they needed
a product to work with during the winter months. Since the water based product cannot be used
in cold temperatures, we invented CT.
Now can you guess? Yes, CT stands
for Cold Temperature. Now, can you guess
where we sell the lions share of CT? You
guessed it, Florida. While this product can be applied down to 32˚F: a huge benefit for the Northeast, it does not wash
away during an unexpected rain shower, a huge benefit for Florida. However, I think the biggest benefit of the
CT system is that it performs well under poor roofing conditions.
During my training classes, I
always use the good conditions / bad conditions scenario to determine when to
use the water based system or the CT system.
If the roofing conditions are good - use the water based system. If the conditions are bad - use the CT
system. When was the last time you went
on an aged roof that you could consider a good condition? Probably not too often.
So, the next time you have a
project with poor conditions, think cold, Sealoflex Cold Temperature.
