President's Message(Rob Kauffmann, President and CEO)
Sealoflex
is all about vision and it has been our vision for some time to bring you, our
valued customers and colleagues, a communication tool that is not only timely,
but interactive as well. I have written
these paragraphs while on an extended trip in the United
Kingdom as we delve into Europe. Our quest is to bring Sealoflex to the world
and while Europe is as unforgiving a territory as the US, our success in this market is
primarily due to the quality of our product line, coupled with a dedicated
staff. The same factors that have
allowed our success in the US. It has been a long and hard battle in Europe, but every day we find ourselves winning over new
customers and changing conventional wisdom in a global community that demands
the highest standards. It is a source of
great pride to see our trademark yellow buckets on job sites in Europe,
especially when you take into consideration the age and importance of some of
these buildings and the realization that Sealoflex has become the trusted brand
on such antiquities. This is the same
pride I felt when we opened our
doors in South Africa 30 years ago and in the U.S. 20 years ago and I know we
have only scratched the surface.
From a
personal standpoint I want to thank each and every one of you for your loyalty
and patronage. The Sealoflex family has
been described by others as "the most cohesive, customer-oriented team of
professionals in the business" and I could not agree more. If you could see what I see behind the
scenes, you would understand just how focused we are on you and why we are in
the relationship business, as well as the business of the best waterproofing
systems in the world. Until next month...

NEW AND HERE TO HELP! Butch Lowe, Technical Support
Meet Patrick
"Butch" Lowe. Email: plowe@sealoflex.com
Butch is a
born and bred Charlestonian. who has spent much of his life in and around the
construction industry. Known as a guy
who does not mind getting his hands dirty, it is no wonder he thrived for many
years as a real estate appraiser, getting into the nitty gritty for his
clients. Lured to
Sealoflex by Technical Manager Bill Young, Butch has long been familiar with
Sealoflex from his many reconstruction projects.
When Butch
is not at his desk, you can find him in the "sample shed" experimenting with Sealoflex products and processes so that his customers get
the benefit of his first-hand experience.
When Butch gives you advice, it is coming from someone who has been there
every step of the way.

TECH TALK Bill Young,Technical Manager, Applications and Warranties
I have
been receiving technical calls for five years and surprisingly, it is not
repetitive. The Sealoflex product line
is very broad, which provides waterproofing to the entire building envelope and
therefore an unlimited number of application scenarios.
This
unlimited number of application scenarios can lead to some confusion. That is why I break down the Sealoflex
application process into three simple phases:
- Phase 1: Normal preparation and priming. All projects need to be properly cleaned and
prepared and some need priming.
- Phase 2: Basic application of our waterproof system; and
- Phase 3: Taking your
project to a high-level decorative finish.
If you
always plan your project according to:
- Phase 1: Preparation & Priming
- Phase 2: Applying the waterproof system, and
- Phase 3: A Decorative Finish...
your Sealoflex projects will be efficient, high quality projects one right
after another.
Bill
