MoveAbility
Massage Therapy and
Spacial Dynamics® Movement
for proactive people of all abilities

blossom Greetings!

2008 marked MoveAbility's first year. And what a year it was!

Thank you for being one of the many wonderful people I had the privilege of working with this past year.

There were a myriad of special moments with all of you: laughter, tears of joy, release, and sadness, transformation on many levels, realizations of the subtle, sudden, and not so subtle kind..., body areas reclaimed, revived, and rejuvenated, movement (patterns) refined, changed, and even turned upside down or inside out. There was growth all around.

Together with you, MoveAbility has grown from a seed into a strong seedling in its first year. See some of the highlights below, as well as a sneak preview for 2009.

All the best for the New Year! May it bring you to new horizons within and around yourself.

2008 Review

Spacial Dynamics® Movement Class for Women, held at Bloom in Saratoga Springs. The intimate size of this class allowed us to explore special movement wishes for and with each other.

Mixed-Level Spacial Dynamics® Movement Class, held at The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs. Small but powerful, this group had fun together!

Monthly Movement Gathering for Spacial Dynamics® students and graduates, held at Triform near Hudson, NY. A dedicated group of 10-16 people moved together, exploring various applications and combinations of Spacial Dynamics principles in movement, posture, and enlivening the space around our bodies.

Massage and Bodywork began at Still Point Interfaith Retreat Center and the Spacial Dynamics Institute.

The website got up and running. It is being updated and changed regularly, so feel free stop by and visit www.move-ability.net frequently.

Thai Yoga Massage was added to the menu in September 2008. It is done fully clothed on a mat, and includes massage, stretches, assisted yoga positions, and pressure along energy lines. If you haven't tried it, ask someone who has! Chances are you may like it...

waiting areaSince November 2008 MoveAbility has its own office in Malta, NY! It is a quiet, beautiful, spacious room that allows for table, mat, and movement work. A waiting area and bathroom are adjacent, and the building is wheelchair accessible. Come check it out if you haven't been there yet!
Our neighbors in the same building are the Beauty Society Salon, specializing in organic hair color, and we share the waiting area with Alchemy Organic Skin Care. As you see MoveAbility is in great company!

 2009 Preview

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy will be new at MoveAbility in 2009. This subtle yet powerful form of bodywork tunes into the rhythms and fluid systems of the body and creates a space, in which the body's profound wisdom can be accessed. While there is very little 'action' on the outside, a great deal of activity and positive change can be experienced by the receiver. Most people enter a peaceful state of relaxation during this work, hovering in the blissful space between waking and sleeping. A wide variety of issues can be addressed with biodynamic craniosacral therapy. Stay tuned!

Various local Spacial Dynamics movement classes are planned, among them one containing tools for anxiety. Dates, times, and location will be announced as they become available.

A small assortment of handmade items promoting warmth is in the works. They will be available for purchase at the office as well as the website.

MoveAbility strives to become a part of the community through networking and collaborating with local charities, groups, professionals, organizations, and individuals. It is my hope that this will be greatly expanded in 2009.

As MoveAbility grows with its clients in this coming year, one goal is continuing to find creative ways to make our services available to those who can not afford them. Your ideas and support are welcome in this endeavor!

May 2009 be a year of abundance on all levels.
