Girls Leadership Conference:
The Positive Power of Social Media
Lori Wilson with Girls LeadershipAs the culmination of a year of skill-building, teamwork, and activities, WRC's 3rd annual Girls Leadership Conference was held March 5th at Radnor Middle School. 85 girls from eight area schools attended this daylong conference entitled The Positive Power of Social Media. Events opened with an activity by NBC anchor Lori Wilson (center), followed by philanthropic entrepreneur Cheryl Beck. After lunch, the girls participated in small group activities related to the topic of social media and cyberbullying.

Many thanks to Radnor Middle School and Principal Anthony Stevenson for hosting this wonderful event for girls in our community. Also to the General Warren Inn, Wawa and Ciao Bella Cakes for the delicious food and to Terry Scholl Photography and Matlack Florist.

Volunteer Spotlight
Marty Bedeian
For this very special month we are featuring the wonderful Marty Bedeian! Marty
joined the WRC board in 2007 and currently serves as 1st Vice President and Luncheon Committee Co-Chair. She has also been Treasurer and has served on various Board Committees. She is a financial adviser with Merrill Lynch and calls this her "dream job."  An almost "empty-nester", Marty lives in Devon with her husband John, has three children (two in college), Gabrielle, Hillary and Adam and a dog, Edgar. When not in volunteer mode, Marty enjoys walking Edgar and reading just about anything.
