This month's featured volunteer is Vivian Gutter, one of WRC's most steadfast volunteers, pictured on the far right with WRC Board Members Blaine LeRoy and Lisa Kohn. In Vivian we recognize unparalleled dedication to the WRC and strength of character in both her volunteering and her personal life. Vivian is a world-traveler, from the Amazon and New Zealand to West Germany where she saw the Berlin Wall come down in 1989. As quoted in a newspaper article, Vivian not only believes in the mission of the WRC, she lives it. Having been a volunteer for the WRC for 26 years, Vivian runs the Book Bunch group for women looking for intellectual stimulation and companionship. She was a professional typist, raised three children and now has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her incredible devotion to WRC, Vivian also helps out in the reading program at Russell Grade School. True to her name, which comes from the Latin word meaning lively, Vivian attends to everything she does with a personal touch and care that reminds those around her to follow her example in always learning from one another.
