June 3, 2010 Flair '10: An Evening For and About Women. 4-8 pm at the historic Montrose Mansion at the Villanova Conference Center. Proceeds from the registration fee go to WRC.
June 6, 2010 WRC will be at the Ardmore Blossoms Festival at the Clover Market from 11-4. If you come out to support the community or do some shopping at the open air market be sure to stop by our table!
June 9, 2010 10:00-11:30 am. Main Line Unitarian Church will host a career workshop facilitated by career counselor Bobbie Potsic. Call WRC to register: 610-687-6391.

The 2010 Leadership Luncheon was a great success!

WRC received a $15,000 grant for General Operating Support from the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls. WRC will be at Greystone Hall in West Chester on June 8th to celebrate with the other grantees.
The Women's Referral Network of Chester County has chosen WRC as its community partner this year. Join us at one of WRN's monthly luncheons (2nd Tuesdays) to meet local women business owners and entrepeneurs.
The Women's Resource Center is closed on Saturdays from June-August. There will be no legal consultation nights in West Chester and Media in July and August.
A six-week session of Coming Out of Marriage & Relationships will begin July 13th.

The first two sessions of WRC's new Career Speaker Series took place last month. Join us for the 3rd workshop!June 9th at 10 am at Main Line Unitarian Church (816 South Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA)
Lead by Bobbie Potsic, a seasoned career counselor, these sessions will focus on the needs and interests of those who attend
and may include: recognizing your strengths, choosing a meaningful and rewarding
career, setting career goals, resume and interview preparation, handling change
with grace and optimism, tapping into your network, and finding mentors.

Barbara Pohlig has been a WRC phone volunteer for four years. After seeing several family members and friends struggle with divorce, custody and financial issues she knows that place like WRC can be a godsend for people in need. She also volunteers at the Chester County District Attorney's office.
Barbara has an RN from Villanova and recently received a masters degree in forensic medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has two daughters, one son, and one granddaughter.
Last week Radnor Studio 21 invited WRC to be on MAIN LINE SUBURBAN LIFE: THE TV SHOW. The show was promoting the Flair '10 Women's Expo, an event that benefits the Women's Resource Center. Thanks to Barbara who did a great job representing WRC.

For 35 years the Women's Resource Center (WRC) has

communities through referral, counseling, legal and educational services. We empower women to make informed decisions
and achieve personal growth during life transitions. Three full-time and two part-time staff
members, along with over 100 active volunteers, provide services to more than
4,000 women and girls annually in the five-county Philadelphia area.
