What's Happening at the WRC?
Weekend Hours, New Career Nights

Legal Issues of Divorce

Starting in March, WRC will be open from 10 am -1 pm on Saturdays.  Two volunteers will be at the center to answer the helpline and a counselor will be here to offer help to women who drop in.  We'll kick off the new Saturday hours by hosting an Open House on March 6th. All are welcome to stop by for coffee and doughnuts!

Also starting in March, WRC will offer a second session of Individual Career Consultations on the 1st Thursday of each month.  Now women will be able to come in on both the first and third Thursdays from 7-8:30 pm to meet one-on-one with a career counselor.

Main Line Society of Professional Women:
Networking in Stilettos

WRC's raffle baskets were a big hit at the Society of Professional Women's Networking in Stilettos event on January 28th.  Thanks to everyone who bought tickets!

The baskets contained items donated by Air Ventures Hot Air Balloon Flights, Beethoven Wraps, Bryn Mawr Racquet Club, Clearview's Anthony Wayne Movie Theater, Cuticle Corner Nail Spa, Fit n' Well Personal TrainingFresh Ayer, Glenmorgan Bar & Grill, Katydid, Michelle Fallon, CMT at Lauren Hair Style, Radnor Hotel, Tennis Essentials, Villanova University Athletics Department, Wayne Hotel, and Wayne Sporting Goods.

The fundraiser would not have been possible without Leslie Mezger and Shelley VanClief, who worked tirelessly to solicit donations, put together the baskets and promote the raffle.  WRC is very grateful for their dedication to the center.

We would also like to thank Neen James, WRC board member and featured speaker at the event, the Main Line Society of Professional Women, and the Main Lne Chamber of Commerce

About WRC
For more than 35 years, the Women's Resource Center (WRC) has been a beacon of light for Delaware Valley women experiencing crises or life transitions including abuse, homelessness, job loss, single parenthood, depression, divorce, and deprivation of basic needs.

At the Center, women from all over the region find compassionate, experienced staff and volunteers trained to help others live healthier, more fulfilled lives through information, education and support.

Last year the Center served more than 4,000 women - many from low income backgrounds and in need - through core programs such as Single Mothers Support, as well as our extensive referral network. WRC's Girls Leadership Program works with middle school girls to encourage self-esteem, positive decision making and career planning.

As a non-profit organization, we rely exclusively on donations from individuals, businesses and foundations to continue the Center's essential programs and services.
